You know what I fucking love?
MONSTERS
I can't get enough of grotesque, horrifying monsters in media (especially vidya). From the generic-yet-still-spooky Redeads, to the beastly demons of Doom, to the horrifying Vortex Queen, and to the "what the fuck is that" of Giygas - I love 'em all. They can be spooky, faceripping, or just plain fun to slaughter - it doesn't matter.
POST YOUR FUCKIN' MONSTERS
and even better if you post descriptions if they're from lesser known games.

In my entire life, a boss fight never freaked me the fuck out as much as Giygas.
Up until 2006 or 2007 I thought that was just some weird nightmare, it wasn't until I saw a thread about it on some old forum that probably doesn't exist anymore that I realized it actually happened.

Incidentally, what are some monsters in non-vidya media you'd like to see representation of in vidya? Or see better representation of? Especially if it's in the form of an entire game idea, instead of just a one-off thing you fight in some bland FPS.
Personally, I'd love to see a game that actually has a lot of immersive sim mechanics, but is centered around surviving the onslaught of a horrifyingly strong monster. Rather than playing as one single character where you just restart when you die (see: Amnesia, Alien Isolation, et al), you just end up switching to another character - forcing a kind of "ironman mode". So you're literally playing as a group (one character at a time), lending itself well to co-op play, too. Thus, losing your characters actually matters - it's not just a restart point, you actually have to try and not get gored to death. Even better if there's an in depth sanity mechanic (including elements like stress, morality, etc), so literally killing yourself might be a better option than getting your entrails ripped open and spilled onto your teammates, although it heavily demoralizes your team.
This'd only work if you had proper immersive sim mechanics, though. The ability to not just walk around and maybe jump, but interact with your environments in a consistent set of logic and rules set up by the game. Stuff like Thief, Deus Ex, System Shock, etc. Even better if any item you pick up can be properly held and used as an impromptu weapon, rather than requiring the devs to "let you" use it as such - so literally any item in the game can be used for self defense, with all the pros and cons you'd expect IRL. Something like a shovel might be good for the range and stopping power, but the wood handle would probably break with a good swing or two from the enemy if you defend with it.

Yeah, I have the whole Serious Sam collection on Steam but I have yet to play through 'em all and beat it. I enjoyed what I did play, but eternal backlog, etc. Still, good shit. The clacking of Kleers is already embedded in my mind forever.
One thing I'm a bit disappointed by is that there's very few vidya which finds a good balance between slaughtering monsters and being instantly slaughtered by them. I like the idea of needing to actually struggle to fight something, and encounters being seldom or special occasions (IE: boss fights), with the rest of the game focusing on other elements. Mowing down waves and waves of things is still fine (See: Serious Sam), of course, but I'd love to see more games that try to scale the power of what you fight with your ability to fight it - and specifically ensuring survival isn't just about "lol u die in 1 hit!". Something like the idea I posted above would work as a good middle point.

There was an X-Files episode about Scully having premonitions about angels, though, and she actually sees a Seraphim with an accurate appearance based on the Bible. Shit was pretty good - most of the Biblical episodes in the X Files are usually top-tier, tbh.

The obvious lampshaded explanation for skeletons speaking is "it's just magic, bro", but that's fucking lame. I'd love to see at least some spooky distorted effects when they speak, to signify that they're not speaking through normal means. Internal logic is really important for shit like this.

You can't be serious, there's a reason why almost none of junji's shit has been adapted to anime It doesn't translate well, ito's creepiness is all thanks to his particular drawing style., and kojima is merely an "ideas guy" who couldn't design a good game or write a good story to save his life, you liked MGS 1, 2 and 3's plot? It was all the work of tomokazu fukushima. You liked PW/GZ/TPP gameplay and graphics? Thank his staff. 4 is the only game he actually made and it's no wonder it is a total shitshow with an hour worth of gameplay and 20+ of cutscenes.
Del Taco is just a cuck, did you see his last movie, the one that earned multiple awards just because he's a spic and it was the year of FUCK DRUMPF? Well if you didn't here's a quick rundown: It's dogshit, it stars a legitimate autistic retarded jewess who "falls in love" aka fucks the living shit out of a nigger in a merman costume because no other man has ever showed interest in her, and rightfully so because she's hideous and autistic and the merman can't say no, said merman is kept in a secret government facility because he's actually some sort of deity/old god thing and they just can't let shit like that roam around on the streets, the "villain" is a straight, white, christian family man who ALWAYS, and i mean ALWAYS, does the right thing: he goes out there to search for the merman while everyone else either sits on its ass or ignores it because "love", he shoots the traitorous jew who was keeping information from him, he shuts up the fat niggress who was trying to demean him and finally realizing he can't just keep the jewess and the nigger apart he does the one thing no one else thought of/was too much of a coward to do: kill them both and move on, unfortunately the merman heals pretty quickly, gets back on his feet after being fatally shot on the heart, because he is a dangerous monster after all beheads the "villain" and then takes the dead jewess to his underground lair where he can fuck her corpse for an eternity.
Every day i thank god for giving konami the bright idea of shitcanning that pretentious P.T. jumpscare walking simulator, too bad it spawned resoydent evil seven, at least capcom had enough sense to go back to make another clone of RE4.

I always sorta like monsters that are based on esoteric or mythological designs with some historical backing. Or at least creatures that have existed in some sort of monster manual compendium at one point. They need some lore, some backstory, some secret to conquer them. Not purely existential horror, but have just a bit of substance to make them believable on a materialistic plane. Bonus points if they are in a book that quintessentially is analogous to Tobin's Spirit Guide.

Shame that there isn't more out yet but I also believe that the right animators haven't come out of the woodwork to give real justice to his stories. I tried doing that in my mod (of a mod) for Doom. Balancing individual xenos being hard with them dying with a short burst, so that they wouldn't be sponges and your guns wouldn't feel like toys, without making it a walk in the park either. Also making hordes being something you could deal with. I think I managed in the end to make it tense like I wanted to. To make you feel both armed to the teeth and inadequate at the same time.
It's heavily WIP though and I stopped working on it around january last year. Last things I remember being planned before I stopped were:
>try to get into Zscript to overhaul the aliens, predators, marines and droids behavior completely
>change the way monster closets work
>remove the semi-auto shotgun and replace it with something better (there are two other shotguns already)
>unfuck the HUD because items you collect don't show up in the items tab (health items and others) plus a load of other problems with it
>remove the motion tracker in the HUD
>replace all the pistol variations with a pistol + motion tracker combo
>replace the minigun with the M70 PIG (http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/M78_PIG)
