They will always be precious therefore while they can fluctuate (pretty widely with everyone trying to secure their shit in front of a paradigm change) they will never go to 0, like stock, USD can or even land can.
It's what you buy if you don't trust the banks, already have money, own your house, don't have debts, etc… It's the shit you will leave your kids that isn't a bunch of 1 and 0 owned by schlomo.

If anyone wants to know exactly why anything that isn't physical is no longer safe, its because every entity with significant financial capital will use it to speculate, and they do it with stupid shit like credit default swaps which are pretty much just betting on someone repaying a loan and when you have a crash in one sector of the economy, every company that was betting on their loans loses a bunch of money, and all the companies invested in those investors lose a bunch of money, and so on until everyone is affected. This even goes to pensions and stuff because they're full of "safely diversified" huge index funds which are worthless when every company they represent is equally fucked. The difference with physical goods is that "silver" doesn't make investments, so it isn't dependent on the continued success of the rest of the economy.
