Just for the record, I think emulation is great and even if it's for the sake preservation alone, but if it's as garbage as PS2 emulation then original hardware is the only way to go. I still have my PS2, PS3, OG Xbox and my Saturn(Saturn emulation didn't even exist 2 years ago or so) Don't get me started on PS3 emulation which is still in the beta phase after 12 years and "people" actually paid for that emulator. No clue about Wii U emulation since I'm one of those 10 retards outside of Japan that actually bought that Fisher Price toy.
I thought about getting a 2nd hand Xbone just for 360 backwards compability although not every game is supported yet afaik so I came to the conclusion that it's better to wait.

WiiU is doing OK with Cemu. I can't currently run it properly due to me having an AMD GPU, but that's about to change when they finish implementing the Vulkan backend. I'd say the Nintendo side of things is doing phenomenally well, there's no major issue with Dolphin either.
PS3 is getting there, I think, but yeah, PS2 and PS1 emulation are really bad. What bugs me the most is that there's barely anyone contributing to PCSX2. That's why there'll never be a Vulkan backend or major improvements. It's all pretty much led by one guy who's extremely vocal in the forums in being a total shit to anyone owning any kind of AMD hardware.
