The vast majority of characters in Smash are the main characters of a series, main villains of a series or other reoccurring characters in a series, like Peach. Wario has two series of his own at this point. Waluigi is not a secondary character in any of them. Hell, the most important role he's had in a game, ever, is having his own board and being one of the main villains in story mode of MARIO PARTY 3. Waluigi is less iconic than goombas or koopas to Mario. He's less important than any of the numerous Kirby villains. Geno is the ONLY character from the most highly requested (K.rool, ridley, geno) not to be in yet, the only one from melee polls not to enter the game from previous iterations (who appeared in brawl and smash 4). The only mii costumes without getting in in some way shape or form are Geno and Lloyd Irving (and heihachi or the fighting game ones, but those were put in a bundle as a meme and not sold as single mii costumes)

Bayo's very design is busted because she's a single player game character in a multiplayer fighting game. Even if it's hard to see the speed-ups in general, shields are now only perfect on release instead of start up, which helps encourage a more aggressive style. As said in one of the other threads, it feels like Sakurai's trying to make a faster game but without fucking up your hands.

The biggest change is that you can run around without necessarily kneecapping yourself. Brawl, Tr4sh, and Melee all have skid animations if you release the stick during a run animation, and those animations can't be cancelled into anything. Melee has a much more generous distance where you can pivot instantly during a dash (run start animation), so it isn't AS bad, but in Brawl and Tr4sh movement is a huge liability. You can do anything from a walk, but almost nothing from a run.

Tr4.5h is apparently much more lenient with this skid animation, allowing you to do any grounded attack out of it. This alone will be huge, and the potential for wavelands/dashes (even if they're gimped) means you'll have more ways to move around the stage.

Now if they would just let running momentum carry into jumps, it'd be great not that I have a Switch.

Everyone's landing lag was decreased to a minimum 3 frames without attacking. The lag for landing while attacking was decreased across the board so it's more noticeable on slower characters like Link and Ike.
