Back when they released i played a bit of Company of Heroes and Dawn of War. At the time i wasn't a huge fan, though i'm not really sure why. Dawn of War 2 was a disappointment, and the less said about Dawn of War 3 the better.

A question remains: How is CoH2? The leadup to its release was promising, but Ive basically heard nothing about it since then. Is it complete shite, and If so; why? It looks like the game is still getting support in the form of Balance patches, though i dont know the state of balance as-is.

Browsing the steamstore today shows me that the game is £14.99, honestly i expected it to still be at 50 quid or whatever it released at, as most AAA games seem to prefer doing.

shame because the fog of war mechanic and all units spawning off map are nice features

but gameplay is shit

graphics are way worse

hardware requirements are way higher

good mods are non-existent

MP is shit as always

They couldn't optimized the shit out of the game while the they chose to be a bunch of moralfaggots who made the Soviet Campaign all about how bad the Russians were, it got too political to the point that Russia banned it, yeah yeah Stalin is bad, but god, it was so moralfaggotry that it overshadowed the entire game.

That's really dissapointing. I remember that the Panzer Elite campaign in 1 was pretty neutral politically speaking. Hell, even the vanilla campaign tried to depict the germans as normal people instead of going out of its way to make them look like monsters (I never beat it though so maybe I missed something).

I was thinking of pirating it way back when it came out, but after playing MP during a free weekend I realized Relic had no idea what it was doing. Which is a shame because I really liked the winter map mechanics.
