Honestly wondered when that might happen. Still other options elsewhere, and ones that don't pre-emptively purge games being rereleased in the future, but I'll admit their download speeds weren't bad and as far as what didn't get culled, they had a selection of games other places didn't and still don't. Maybe those ones will step things up, assuming NoA doesn't turn their lawyers in their direction now that the big fish is belly up, or that they don't get scared and close shop too. But also the reminder that once something on the net, if not nipped immediately, it spreads as long as there's interest. Nintendo, and other companies, can try all they want to purge rips of their games from the web, but as long as someone has the files and someone else has the demand, it can still proliferate.

>>15269894
There's other places with PS2 games if you look a bit, though perhaps not to such a high capacity or ease of direct downloading. Not going to mention them in case there's people watching for what the next target ought to be. But on the flip side, Emuparadise had been culling various PS2 games Sony had been dumping onto the PS4 PSN anyhow, so even their stuff hadn't been "complete" for it in years.
>>15269912
At least I've got raw files of some games that are (or were, in some cases; fuck you A0t) in the works to get translations, even if they wouldn't be done for years. Speaking of, it wouldn't shock me if, for as much as fan-translators and romhackers push a "buy the game legit, rip it, and patch it" mentality, I'm sure they know the main source of people getting their game files is dumps other people have made and uploaded, and thus killing rom/iso sites like this might also kill off interest in people working with older games as well. Because if it seems it's too hard for people (the ones that don't look too deep) to find the raw game files, it might also seem like not many people would be able to enjoy the game patched either.

Asking because I don't deal with places outside of imageboards for discussion, don't hang out with normalfags, and if you ask me, it would take something monumentally stupid/bad for the massive following Nintendo's cultivated over the decades to deride them as EA-tier, if not actually drop them in bulk. Pretty sure they did all they could and everyone related to them also did that. Some of them might even attack you for using "illegal" japanese version in US, because its illegal to play untranslated game. Basically they see anyone not playing their games as stealing. Just as bad as games workshop, they sell IP rights to pc developers and than they consider successful warhammer games as losing money because PC games hurt their miniature business. Jews are never fucking pleased and everything is losing money for them and therefore should be banned. I bet soon they will lobby to forbid indie games from creating new IP because fuck the competition. Just make everyone pay 1k$ per character if they want make a game, its not a lot, right? And that bullshit is already exist, I am pretty sure steam dont pay fucking anything to small and shitty game developers who make less than threshold amount of money from their game.
Remasters and bullshit editions already popular and cost more than original game while its the same fuckign original game with may be a one fucking bugfix and config file edited to support better resolution.
And dont forget mobile games. Every fucking emulated game which is better than every fucking mobile game hurts profit margins of jewgle. I don't see it happen for a simple reason:
The amount of games i have to finish or even try is enourmous, i'll probably die before completing everything (just completing it, no alternative endings or 100%). But that's not only for me, that's everyone of us sadly. Another reason is that i downloaded every game that didn't look like garbage. I sat there watching 10hours videos like"all ps2 games nip included" compilations, scrolled manually through the title list on emuparadise, and checked every single game. So as far as the content on Emuparadise i'm set. I was more scared when i couldn't access nicoblog for some dumb reason, and even going through their proxy, it won't show the links when i click on the button, but there are workaround.
But even if all that wouldn't be enough, games come out constantly, and yes, most are shit, but there are good one here and there too. You'll always have sites like IGG or just sharing with friends.
I don't even play that much nowadays since i fill my time with drawing or even learning to make games. At this point i'm doing backups just out of fear and spite.

Word of advice: like most non-EP sites, that one uses third party content hosting, which comes with stuff like download limits and slowdowns for "too much" activity from the same IP. So just something to keep in mind if a bunch of people are scrambling: perhaps some people should pick a system they're prioritzing, and that way if shit goes south in the near future, hopefully there's enough anons that can back up their particular sets to the share thread or something.

They also scare every site and potential uploader by extension, it doesn't matter if you have some podunk site or host with 50-200 downloads (if even that), most people will never find it and that's what Nintendo wants to do
If you can stop 70% or more of downloads by taking down all the well-known and trusted hosts and leaving the fate of the rest up in the air, that effectively cuts it off for most people

Copyright was introduced for the sake of expediency because patronage was seen as too shackling for creators, since they would be fully dependent on a few rich entities like the church.
Nowadays technology has completely reversed this situation. Distributed patronage on the Internet gives creators more freedom and less accountability than any copyright system. Every practical reason for copyright to exist was killed by the advancement of technology, it only continues to exist because a few uber-rich shitbags got too used to the comfort of being able to profit from goods with zero scarcity through an incredibly taxing government-enforced monopoly on distribution.
Remember, they aren't selling the effort of producing creative works, that would be patronage. They are absorbing the costs of producing in order to turn a profit by selling unlimited copies that anybody with a computer and Internet access could easily make and distribute.
Copyright is a blight on humanity and every single bloodsucking cunt who supports it deserves the rope.

Note that while M-Disc DVD-R's were tested and proven to last quite a while by the US DoD, M-Disc BD-R's were not. They MIGHT last over 100 years, but it's very dependent on different factors such as storage conditions. Proceed with caution and don't expect the BD-R's to last 500 years, let alone a 1000. (Source: http://archive.is/Ck7D8)
Personally, I will buy a bunch of high-capacity HDD's and archive everything on those, while a dozen or so M-Discs will hold the most valuable information out of everything. I will be also waiting for a better storage technology (like quartz discs, whatever happened to them, I wonder), but with the whole pushing for cloud storaging bullshit, I have less and less optimism other than for my initial plan.

This is of no concern to me, you fags should know if you give these kinds of sites too much traffic and use it too frequently, you're setting off alarms for companies like Nintendo to look at and later take them down. So the lesson is be selective, try to download shit as you play them and not just to have them. Now this just means I have to put in a little extra effort in order to download games I want to play, i.e. using torrents and not straight downloads. The fact that these sites existed so freely and avoided being under the radar is impressive enough. But if there's one fact of life, it's that nothing will stop pirates and people wanting shit for free.

Case in point, this Wii game right here has been the bane of my existence because for the longest time the only person who seemed to have it was a lone Spaniard who would upload it at 0.1 kB/sec and for half a week, took me like three months just to get it and the week after I reup'd it on some private sharing site the owner crashed it with no survivors.

That's why there should be an anti-mafia to games horders and more game savers. Save everything to online storage site or disc and make sure there are multiple copies of the same game over multiple places in case one doesn't work or is terminated. Make sure you make a doc list of games, since it'll become s huge list in no time, so you know where you put them. Copy those storage files to a disposable place so you don't have to endanger your storage site. Repeat process upon request or just because you want something made available that doesn't seem to be.
Been doing this for a while but not recently for games sadly. The average rate of download and upload I do daily is around 15GB back and forth x 3 sites for the same files. It's a daunting chore but it's all in the name of preservation. If there was a group of people doing this and we can back each other's stuff so that there is multiple copies of every single file, then there wouldn't be a problem. It's kind of the lazy mentality that people think that something will last forever and scramble last minute like japanese kids with summer homework.
I'll be honest. You have to get into a deep routine to save and upload this stuff because you won't be getting paid for this unless you want to become high profile target which is the one thing you don't want to do. It'll be like a second job where you don't get paid and there are very people up to the task. If anyone is up for the task, be prepared because it'll be a thankless job depending on if you're doing this for something other than games. I've been doing this for several months over 10+ categorizes of pirate media so I have free space on my hard drive and a copy for when I really need it. My case is more extreme because how quickly something obscure disappears when you least expect it. If there was an organized group that would be cool but as far as I know, I'm the only guy doing it at this capacity.

>losing games forever in the sands of time
This is actually rare and more of an instance of what people want to play or what interests people or what people have heard about. Even obscure games are saved, sometimes by their own creators when not even pirates seem to care. I'm not saying games don't go forever lost, they do, but usually it's Satellaview or Sega Channel games that were designed to be played for 2 hours at the most, PC games that their own developers hated, or limited release games for systems almost no one owned and are near impossible to emulate / no one wants to. I'm all for stronger piracy and backing up everything possible, but the fact is, we're not in a good position and never will be. We need to play our cards smart and try not to bring attention to ourselves to outsiders, because it will only bring detriment to our cause. Nintendo will always know about piracy, but if they don't know where it is and can afford to underestimate how big it is, we have better advantages.

It's a shame it was shut down and it will definitely make things less easy, but it doesn't concern me as I've seen ROM sites come and go, there's a good chance another one will take it's place in about 2 years. I always try to seed as much as I can, and I agree torrenting isn't perfect and not preferred, but guarantees alternate options for those truly interested and could even more recruit game savers like it did for me.
>>15271455
There's still tactics involved with this shit, you download too much and of course big companies will be curious about where all that data is going and what it is. I'm not trying to virtue signal, all I'm saying is to remain cautious to avoid another scenario like this so we really don't lose whole games because someone left them on a depository they thought wouldn't get taken down.
>>15271541
I've been doing this same thing, but on a much smaller scale, mainly for older games or games I think deserve more attention. If did it on that large of a scale, I'd having trouble keeping tabs on everything.

That depends if you want a complete collection of all NA/J/EU isos.
The best way to do get going is to find well seeded torrents of collections and pick and choose the games you want. Later on if you've got the bandwidth and storage space to spare might as well complete the whole collection.
Just because a torrent is several hundred gigs doesn't mean you can't pick a single file out of it. Worst case scenario it downloads chunks of the files before and after the one you want creating large empty files so you triple the size of each game.
Using public torrents is a the perfect form of backup in this scenario. You can lose everything and get back to where you were with a tiny folder containing a few hundred torrent files by renting a seedbox for a month. Much cheaper than RAID5 or archiving on recordable media.

Most pre 5th gen cart based fit under 50GB (you should already have that by default)
Most of the JP computer stuff fits under 400 GB
Dunno about CDi/3DO/Jaguar CD probably all under 200GB though
Mega/Sega CD is 150GB
Saturn is 500GB
PS1 is 500GB + 900GB + 700GB and 200GB on top of that for stuff not in the redump sets
DC is 650GB for the TOSEC collection
PS2 is 2.7TB for the US set and no one has put out a PAL/JP one yet, could easily get near 8 TB total
NGC is 700GB for US set and I haven't seen a complete PAL/JP one but haven't looked either
DS is about 200GB
PSP is about 2.5TB + PSN stuff going for 400GB iirc
XBOX is 2TB if going for the HDD ready collection and 10.5TB if going for Redump (redump includes the secondary layer that just shows a video with "this disc is made for XBOX don't put it in your DVD player you fucking retard")
Wii scrubbed US is 2.2TB
PS3 / X360 are in the 30-50 TB mark
3DS is about 2-3TB
WiiU is about 4TB
Dunno about VITA, would guess under 1TB not including PSN
MAME gets complicated because it includes consoles games too and you don't want that, But iirc arcade only with CHDs it's about 400GB
None of those are guaranteed complete though, and no I'm not spoonfeeding you shit, some of those are found in public magnets / collections and easily gotten through a search engine with some patience, some more of those are in semi private communities that are mostly accessible to newcomers latter system is where you're getting fucked if you don't have a private tracker/site/FTP to go to.

It doesn't matter what you do it. It's absolutely pointless. Normalfags are completely in love with Nintendo and can't even consider other options.
I tried to get a girl into Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing because she liked Shadow the Hedgehog (I guess the design and not really the games) and Mario Kart. Complete failure. It has to be the Nintendo kart thingie. It doesn't matter that it has characters that she likes, it doesn't matter that the vehicles transform into planes and lava boats, if it's not Nintendo it's worthless.

PS1 has it - the green one, but it's actually the design of the Hyper Blaster (it's the gun's name in EU and JP) instead of the classic revolver one. Plugging it in with Silent Hill auto-unlocks the Hyper Blaster IIRC.
Man that baby blue is horrible. Funnily enough when I was a kid I thought the JUSTifier was black as the box showed it, since my uncle (who bought the game back then) airbrushed it as soon as it came out of the box. Still have it, but some parts of the paint went off, so the baby blue shows up again.

Oh, he was. Introduced me to the wonders of games with Genesis. Everything he left me - consoles, games, plane models, collectibles - is carefully preserved.
As for "Bro-op", the pink Justifier could only be obtained via mail - so it's rare as fuck, BUT interestingly enough you can just grab a regular blue one and mod it to have the phone connector. A plus of making this daisy chain system is that the pink gun is system-agnostic: They work on SNES and Genesis since they have to connect to the blue gun (which serves as the actual link to the console).

Emuparadise has been dead since a long time ago, even before they took out the Nintendo roms. No site updates or new uploads for years, it already looked abandoned for ages.
Besides, it's more like shittydumpparadise. Tons of 8-bit / 16-bit roms have intros or are bad dumps. With the 5th / 6th gen ISOs it's even worse, I'd say 40% of them or even more are bad rips. Their mame romset was also outdated af. Even their DOS games section is full of bad releases that have issues or don't work, with bad cracks, corrupt files and the like. It's actually retarded to even think about archiving their content.

For archival yes. That's why companies that have anything that's critically important use it to back up data because they're specifically designed for archival.
