Battletoads is a fantastic game. People give it shit due to the gamestop memes but it's legitimately great. Each of the 12 levels is wholly unique, the gameplay is fun as hell, graphics are amazing for NES standards with little to no lag, and it has music by David Fucking Wise. People only shit on it because each level after the second is an increasingly brutal series of casual filters. But it's the difficulty that gives Battletoads its own charm in a way; it doesn't feel the same without being balls-to-the-wall hard, hence why the Japanese and Genesis versions of the game are inferior.
