Is there anything even… salvageable in the mobile gaming market? Like, I imagine the criteria for a phone game that's redeemable, is to have no freemium gachashit, not be an emulated game, and have an actual price tag. The only ones I can think of are this Pokémon clone I saw a while back, and the Dead Space game EA put on there one time.

Deathsmiles is available on android, pretty good shmup by cave but it needs a decent phone to run at acceptable speeds, it runs perfectly on my rednote 3 pro you really want those 60fps on a game like this.
Dead Trigger is great, it plays more like a console shooter than a mobile game, you can use a gamepad if you want but the touch controls are pretty tight.
Weapons Throwing RPG 1 and 2 are also pretty legit, they have a retarded stamina system but the more you level up the more it becomes irrelevant because you'll never run out of stamina unless you're grinding for rare weapons/equipment, i put a good 200 hours into the first game and like 20 on the second one.
Outside those four i can't really think of other mobile games worth your time, right now i'm idling on A Girl Adrift but it really isn't that great, i only play it whenever i'm really, really bored, i also used to play Honkai Impact 3 but i got burned out in 30 hours, the grind is insane and catching up was impossible considering i was 3 years behind, buying my way to the upper echelons was the only way i was going to get any enjoyment out of that game but fuck spending money on vidya.
Download a SNES emulator and knock yourself out with its great catalogue, i recommend Umihara Kawase, Sunset Riders, Magical Pop'n, Wild Guns, Megaman X and UN Squadron.

>Emulating on a phone
No.
It is, by design and due to the fact that all smart/mobile devices are derivatives of the physical inputless iPod Touch not possible to create a long term game that is enjoyable to play, couple that with the need to pay Jewgle and or Apple for hosting/promotion if you want it to be free (good luck getting someone to pay more than 2 dollars for a mobile app) necessitates for ALL software that isn't straight up utilities that are small enough to not trip the fiscal allowance google will give you. The design means that ALL mobile software has to be low effort, fast burn for cash Ad littered garbage.
And considering we're several years into ALL mobile devices being derivative of the all capacitive touch screen iPod Touch type devices, we're too late in the running to have mobile devices that are good for gaming.

Shadowrun is alright, but moving your characters can be awkward at times, and you might end up wasting your action points by acident. It turns a bit sour towards the end by hauling an army of spirit bugs from another dimension that you can only kill in a very specific way at you. Still haven't finished it for that reason.
I've heard Dragonfall is a lot better, but I haven't played it beyond the first five minutes.

KOTOR, ported by Aspyr Media, is fantastic and controls extremely well on a touch screen. It also has the same file structure as PC version and can be modded in the same way if you're smart enough.
PsyCard by Ludosity is good, and Card City Nights 2 by the same company is better. Ittle Dew, also by Ludosity, has a mobile port and it's an alright Legend of Zelda wannabe but its sequel is definitely better.
Some of the Scribblenauts games are on android, if you're into that.
By and large, there are no good android games because there just aren't any good games in general any more and developers can barely be fucked to put effort into a console or PC title much less a mobile one.

Anything involving twich or reaction time is out due to the terrible interface that is touch, so in my imagination the best kind of mobile game will be a turn based strategy game or JRPG of some sort. I played a stripped down version of age of empires on a DS many years ago, something like that could work, and almost any shitty JRPG would work well with a direct port too.
Issue is, it's best to use your devices for what they're best suited for. I play vidya on a desktop PC because that's how you get the best vidya experience, if im on my laptop my time is best spent browsing or watching videos, and if i'm on my phone the best way to use the device is audiobooks or music. Why would i ever want to game on a phone?

Phone is shit and you should be happy you haven't bought it. Battery life is good, but everything else is shit. You are supposed to make shit like camera work by buying a Moto-mod that turns your phone into a camera but guess what that shit is absurdly expensive.
I never bothered to buy that Gamepad because it is 80$. Where I live we don't even have Vorizon so they are selling it for even more. It is even worse with shit like camera where it is pretty much more worth it to buy separate camera than their phone "Mod".
I also have heard the gamepad and other moto-mods are shit. Only thing I got was Power Bank and that shit doesn't even charge your phone fully, so I don't want to throw money on more of these overpriced stuff that will most likely preform like shit.
On top of all of this gamepad is bit larger than PSP. There is no way it will fit into your pocket making it useless as a mobile device form
So there it is. This gamepad was never a viable option. Phone mods still haven't been done properly.
