For awhile I was going to wait to try it at full release but it seems like they're never going to do a full release. Early access cancer for 3 years. Alright so far but the story elements of the game aren't interesting at all. Biggest complaint is I hate square maps in games like this. Rooms with different shapes gave DCSS the flare that kept me playing for a lot longer than I normally appreciate these games. The open world aspect is what people that enjoy this game seem to tout. I'll still have to see for myself if it adds to the game.

RLs are just diablo with shitty controls and no graphics. There's no reason for them to exist except autism.

Modern roguelikes are just in constant development, it's labelled early-access in stores but really it's just par for the course as far as roguelikes go. They get tweaked and modified continually. The game is still likely to undergo major changes even after any set "release date". You might as well wait a while as IMO it is kinda rough around the edges, but it's a similar deal to DF where the longer you stall playing it, the better it will be when you finally do, but you could be waiting years if you decide to.

Caves of Qud is a good game.

To anyone who played Tales of Maj Eyal MUST play Caves of Qud, because those two games are very similar.

Last time I played it I made a 6 armed 4 legged two headed mutant. It was great.
