If you were a game developer, how would you use the processes of evolution and natural selection as a gameplay feature?

By making you suck my dick.

But homosexuality doesn't create viable offspring. That would be a genetic dead end anon.

Evolution and selection are neat and great for AI but in general the concepts aren't particularly well suited to video games in general. Maybe if you had one of those multiplayer io games but with significantly more complexity to have mutating bodies, it would be neat.

>Have Far Cry style island

>There are a set number of each animal on that island with a set reproduction rate

>Kill too much of X animal without defenses and only the poisonous or deadly ones survive making the game harder

>Kill too many of a food source animal and now you starve

>Each species has random traits like being big or small

>Smaller version of lets say rats are able to more easily get into the cracks of your gates and eat your food

>Bigger ones are harder to kill and do more damage to you

>Based on your play style the animals around you adapt

>Kill all the predators and suddenly the grazing animal you fed on has more dramatic population booms and busts making certain times more difficult

The closest I could think of was Wakfu where it had a natural ecosystem and killing too much of a certain animal or harvesting too much of a plant without planting more would make it go extinct on that server. They took it out once they realized players were fucking retarded and couldn't deal with that.

Not a gameplay feature but fuck Eidos Montréal for not making the this the cannon ending since the entire core themes of human revolution was taking evolution into our own hands.

That would be really cool but probably hard to balance in such a way that it would be fun.

>>15240140

Even if Eidos had wanted to make a new MC they'd have never gone for it, fighting muh corporations is a cyberpunk staple and they really fucking wanted to be cyberpunk.

And now we wont ever get a new Dues Ex game again because the last one flopped. It's funny that they thought sticking with Adam was the safest bet but it screwed them over in the end because it meant the story couldn't do anything new (the biggest complaint critics and fans had with the game).

2a717e No.15240199

I guess have Spore's system, but with actual consequences for making a giant dick monster that logically wouldn't be able to survive. That way, most of the retarded species would be driven to extinction. Also have new parts available only as upgrades that would fit the direction your species is headed instead of scavenging them from skeletons.

Anyone have link to one of the Species Alphas?

cbb56e No.15240264

I would make a game about a loli whose goal is to drink as much milk as she can to evolve into increasingly larger bust sizes. It would be multiplayer, and whoever has the biggest oppai at the end of the match wins.

Enemy AI. Have a whole plot about the bossfights up to now weren't meant to kill you, but for a mad scientist to develop a combat AI for his ultimate creation.

I'd probably just incorporate it into the artificial intelligence so NPC behavior is permanently altered based on interactions with the player, other NPCs, and obstacles/pathfinding.

>using evolution as a gameplay mechanic

>wanting to make a broken game

>not just having your game scripts running hundreds of tens of thousands of blocks of praise to our Lord Jesus Christ every frame

>not building your game and engine on the rock solid and bug-free foundation of the word of god

This is why the western game industry is infested with demons and failing. God has taken his blessing away vidya because of we have turned our backs on him.

fbc660 No.15242247

>evolution (n.)

>1620s, "an opening of what was rolled up," from Latin evolutionem (nominative evolutio) "unrolling (of a book)," noun of action from past participle stem of evolvere "to unroll" (see evolve).

>Used in medicine, mathematics, and general writing in various senses including "growth to maturity and development of an individual living thing" (1660s). Modern use in biology, of species, first attested 1832 in works of Scottish geologist Charles Lyell. Charles Darwin used the word in print once only, in the closing paragraph of "The Origin of Species" (1859), and preferred descent with modification, in part because evolution already had been used in the discarded 18c. homunculus theory of embryological development (first proposed under this name by Bonnet, 1762) and in part because it carried a sense of "progress" not present in Darwin's idea. But Victorian belief in progress prevailed (and the advantages of brevity), and Herbert Spencer and other biologists after Darwin popularized evolution.

the more you know
