What's the purpose of this plant other than to add a nofun mechanic to alchemy? It's obvious that you never ever want to eat a stat plant, but these things are so rare that you just end up carrying most of the plants in your bag all game.

Other than that, solid game, 7/10.

No, this game is utter and complete garbage.

It stops being good once you meet the Inquisitor. Everything after that is worse than bad. It is as if the entire studio took the game and gave it to a bunch of interns.

Aside from post-city, the boss-fight is a literal joke. A text-book example on how to make an horrendous fight.

It ignore the game mechanics of the entire game.

Replaced it with a simple "dodge and stand on the right spot".

And took the fucking crown of shitty boss design by forcing you to use a fucking hammer, because all the other weapons you may have trained on become useless.

3/10 and only because up until after the city it was okey.

It was the same in Gothic games. Essentially, it's your payoff for investing in later levels of alchemy as well as a reward for exploration, as most of these things grow in off the path areas. I don't really remember how it was in Risen, but in Gothic, you should be able to make potions out of them by midgame if you focus down that way.

No, only Risen 1 is worth playing. The sequels were extremely casualized and consolized. The fucking dungeon traps in 3 are QTEs.
