Mobile games have been ported to arcade cabinets since Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds. It's sad but that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Perhaps the most egregious example of this I can think of is the Injustice arcade port that is literally a port of the mobile card version. Just proof how fucking retarded arcades have gotten than a literal arcade-style fighting game has to have a dumbed down port of an iOS card game.

I've heard of arcade card games before but that sounds horrible. Card games take a lot of time to play. In an arcade I want a quick burst of action. I want to be able to pick up and play, not spend a significant amount of time setting up my deck. And isn't the entire point of a card game defeated if you and your opponent are sharing a screen? That's why Sonic Shuffle is the only good video game that utilizes cards. But the whole point of going to an arcade is playing with people on the same machines.

I've never understood these. They're much more cumbersome to carry around than a handheld console. You're better off bringing a Vita or 3DS in addition to your phone than a controller that doesn't fit neatly in your pocket. Plus then you'll have real games.

Earlier today I was wondering if a retired police dog could accomplish the same effect.

Another idea I had today for running an arcade that attempts to circumvent the gangs and niggers problem is to have a membership fee just to get in of 10 dollars (probably more though to cove the costs) that includes giving me their fingerprints for id and consent for me to share it with the cops at their request regardless of if they have a warrant for them or not. Also I would run a background check to make sure they have never been convicted of anything.

None of the arcades I went to as a kid had gangs or crime problems. What they had was a problem of charging too much money. Kids couldn't afford that shit and adults might as well just buy the home version. Even in the SNES era when arcades still had a slight hardware advantage, it wasn't worth the money when you could play as much as you want at home. It was fun when you were out and had some time to kill and money to burn, but by the end of the '90s stuff was already costing a dollar per play, which was bullshit. Yeah yeah get good and it lasts longer, but it takes tries to get good, and trying costs money. To try a new game you'll likely only get a minute or two for your dollar. It's not worth paying that much just to lose to some stranger in Street Fighter II in 30 seconds. I'd rather invite my friends over and play Street Fighter II all night on my Super Nintendo.
