I had this awesome bitch for the snes. I also had a super gameboy (the thing you plug into the snes to let you play gameboy games on your TV). My first experience playing pokemon red(christmas 1999) was sitting on the floor with this huge controller and playing it on my TV, was awesome.

I had snes advantage, too. I liked it, but it was nowhere near as sturdy as the nes version. The joystick wasn't as heavy, the plastic was lighter and cheaper, and gone was the metal base. Of course, they had to reduce costs in the era of snes, but it still sucked that they had to shitcan that much quality over the original.

What I loved about Sega controllers is how the plug was fully compatible with the Atari 2600. The extra buttons did jack, but it was fun to use dpad over those stiff sticks. Don't remember if the genesis controllers were compatible, but i want to say that they were

Master System and Genesis controllers work with C64, Amiga, the Atari 2600, and Atari's 8 bit desktop computers. The 7800's second button uses the paddle input pin, which is sorta' analog, so you're better off buying a replacement controller kit like I did. The Atari 5200 is a goddamn mess. Just play stuff on the XE/400/800/whatever.

Ah yes I forgot about the Atari 130xe and x800. My stepdad had both and I would use my Atari joysticks with those. I suppose a genesis would have worked, too. I miss those two computers. Stepdad would pirate games with his friends all day with his modem which, at the time, was probably 300 baud, I'd assume

I used to use two of those with a PC adapter. They're comfy but are missing analog triggers and stick-clicks which limits their usage significantly.

I had to switch to Dualshock 4 for something more all-purpose.

Anyone have the super scope 6? It was amazingly accurate, so accurate in fact, that the games were too easy. I lost interest after a week and ended up returning it. That was the cool thing about Babbage's back in the early 90s - you could literally return anything to that store. I bought games, beat them in a day, and would return them to the store and then get another game. I remember getting videomation for nes and was pissed at how bad it sucked. Returned it a few days later

I've got one, sans the start and select buttons, and without a cord. So much for finding replacement parts in the fifteen years since I got it at a thrift store.

>>15223096

Dogbone is dogshit. Buttons are at the wrong angle.

>>15223228

It's easy. I mean, for fuck's sake, if you spent years playing video games, you should be able to gently turn two knobs at different speeds, and in different directions to draw curves and angles. Also, IIRC, there was some re-drawing involved, from paper to the screen.

>>15223241

It's called the AUG because that's the sound you make when you have to use it.

And it's called the EU, because that's the sound you make when they try to explain to you how the European Union is supposed to work.

If it's your rifle, treat it right. If it's not, stop that.

>>15223262

I've got it on one of my office tables. Just need to gather enough AA cells to use it. A shame that only two games used it well, and neither is a gun game. Goddamn Lemmings 2 and Lamborghini American Challenge.

NES MAX is a far better controller for everything

f8aa4a No.15223383

Or at least, it would be, if it had a directional pad. Used the Max when they were new, and they would bind up with friction rather often. I mean, you can lubricate them with lithium grease or graphite, no issue, but I prefer the crosspad and modern analog sticks, depending on the game.

>I dunno why but I've always liked the layout of the face buttons on the Gamecube controller

It's a lot of fun not being able to hit B at the same time as X or Y without doing a retarded claw which most people won't do, meaning devs have to try to avoid those button combos. Sure glad they changed it from the SNES layout where any combo was easy. Y+A was a little harder but still doable.

Changing directions while flying in Mario World (while moving at speed by holding Y, of course) got pretty hairy, trying to press X without releasing Y or B…
