I figured it's just hyped up by weebs because MUH JAPANEEZ PEOPLE. Can't imagine what retard would pay $30 for the "remaster" (doesn't even have widescreen cutscenes which the emulator does) of this thing. AND they slapped Denuvo on top of it too.

If you don't like it after completing the first one you probably never will like it so it's best for you to pull out now. Because the 2nd one is a lot more of the same.

The idea behind Shenmue is that you're supposed to get immersed in the world, and if you can't do that then you should go play something else because this game isn't for you.

Just a product of it's time. There was nothing like it before in it's release. It was a grounded adventure game without the bullshit permadeaths.

Action games are more fast paced now so it's understandable.
