I think it's pretty great. Embedding is good, group chat with voice is far better and it's a pretty clean UI. Apparently though, they cut WinXP support for chat now since the entire chat is a Chromium interface, as is the store, overlay browser, etc which also don't work with WinXP, but WinXP users can still launch their games.

The most annoying part is the change to nicknames. I used nicknames as a way to keep track of what game I added someone to play with because fuck keeping track of fuckers I barely care about manually. So, for example, if I added Anon because I played… I dunno, fucking Tabletop Simulator with him, I would make his nickname Tabletop Simulator and it would display as "Anon (Tabletop Simulator)" under the old chat.
Now it just displays the nickname without showing the real name. So I've got half a dozen fucks with the name of one game, and 4 named some other game and another 9 named some other game and I don't know who any of these assholes are.

One thing I don't get is why everyone tries to reinvent the wheel. Discord doesn’t even bring anything new to the table, it’s just a castrated version of IRC + VoIP. The only advantage over Mumble or TeamSpeak it has is free servers. That’s literally it.
