What's the point when everyone can play through tweaker and it only has 4 years left in its life. Schtack server is already in developing a private English server for PSO2 anyways. I'm more frustrated that Phantasy Star Nova didn't get fan translated.

I know I shouldn't expect anything good to come out of a phone game but couldn't they stick to at least one recognizable element from their series other than Dark Falz?

You probably played PSII then since for whatever reason it took until Sonic's Genesis Collection on the PS3 and 360 to include Phantasy Star IV in a compilation rerelease (and it also had PSI as an unlockable Master System game as well, thus having all four main entries). Even the GBA Phantasy Star Collection (which was specifically focused on the series) didn't bother to have IV on it. At least to my knowledge of things anyhow.

I've been saying that for years. Anyone who wants to play PSO2 but isn't doing so by now is either lazy as fuck or retarded.

As for Nova, believe me when I say you're not missing out on anything. Even when it released, it was a hollow shell of PSO2, and every content update PSO2 has gotten since then just makes the gap even bigger. What pisses me off the most is that, as you say, PSO2 only has a max of 4 more years of life left, and then Nova will be the closest thing to PSO2 left that people will be able to play. I have zero confidence in the private server seeing as how the PSU private server project has been ongoing for 6 years and is still just a glorified chat room.

Yeah, it reminds me a lot of Star Ocean. It also reminds me a lot of the generic fantasy story going on in PSO2 EP5. Seems like the artists just got sick of sci fi and decided to go with an even more overused genre?

Could they have still made it "sciency" of some sort, or make it look more like a traditional fantasy, than something that looks like they're ripping it off of whatever "magical high school"/Isekai series is popular now? Hell, even science fiction was a fantasy genre originally.

Sadly, generic tends to be what sells best be virtue of familiarity, while a series trying to find a niche in its setting/handling is going to just stay niche until it dies, and even then it's not that likely another developer for the genre is apt to try to fill said void.
