Played the absolute fuck out of that game. If a reboot was planned for the game that greatly expanded the playable cards, refined the mechanics, and made online multiplayer more capable and possibly added an even larger actual card-game M:TG Online mode for traditionalists, it would sell like fucking hotcakes.
For my preference, I say Whacked! was a genuinely unappreciated and underrated title, right up there with Blinx: The Time Sweeper. Both of those games were hot shit, and I played the absolute fuck out of both of them.

I don't think it's really worth playing nowadays, other games do the same thing better.

I picked this up blind a few years ago, and it was a really interesting and cool hack and slash. The levels were pretty big and open (usually) and had some impressive draw distance for a Dreamcast game (though the framerate was usually ass). It had a bunch of combos you could do by hitting attack, then hitting attack again with a directional input. It had some cutscenes and some really cheesy dialogue and voice acting which got pretty funny.
I've read the game got rushed out at some point, and it definitely shows in later areas. It's a damn shame because some of the levels are really 10/10.

That would probably refer to trademark, not copyright. People could use the Blinx trademark but not the intellectual property, meaning the actual game or any of its concepts, such as characters. Copyright is automatic and doesn't expire for however long it's been since Mickey Mouse was invented, since Disney keeps changing the law whenever Mickey's copyright is about to expire to make it last for another 20 or 30 years.
