Pretty sure you can drop it after season 4. Season 4 was SUPPOSED to be the end, and the last episode does a really good job of wrapping up the series if you simply refuse to accept anything after it as canon.
Actually the series was supposed to run 5 seasons, then got scaled back to 3 or 4 with 4 being the one that had to quickly finish everything, and then after 4 they got renewed again so they had to resurrect the series. Then it sort of trails off into Crusade which got cancelled, so regardless of the quality of Season 5 the series is left open and unresolved IF you go past season 4.
Also, Season 1 was very leftist. Lots of episodes pushing diversity and hating on religion and shit. By season 2 they are too busy with the important plot to do much of that shit.

He can choose whatever digital distribution platform he wants or make his own website to sell them. He can port it to whatever platform he wants or sell it to a publisher. I don't really disagree inherently. Japan made great games but I feel like the modern industry there is pretty bland and uninspired, and the country and culture don't really appreciate or support this concept of AA or indie studios either which means smaller gems don't have as much of a chance to shine, which means that nowadays it's basically a few large companies ruling over everything like Square Enix, Konami, Capcom and Bandai Namco. A lot of these companies, primarily the first 3, are also no less "evil" than western publishers like EA either. Japanese people really like massive series that are basically dragged out for ages and essentially offer a similar experience time and time and time again, JRPGs are proof of this. Most JRPGs feel the exact same, rarely do they offer a differing experience from the last title but on the western side you have something like Kingdom Come: Deliverance on one hand and Divinity: Original Sin 2 on the other. Two games made by pretty small studios of under 100 people that were crowdfunded and managed to be massive hits.
