Among licenced Musou games, the entire Gundam series is pretty good, since each one has different strengths and weaknesses in gameplay. Get the PS3/360 versions of those. If you want more strategy ala FE Warriors, there's the Dynasty Warriors 8/Samurai Warriors 4 Empires series, which each do strategy pretty differently from each other.

DW9 is a single player open world version of the game. Short is that it does not work that well and it is not good, since it is full of padding and the new combat system is not very interesting.
