Pic goddamn related. I'm a sucker for alt history americana in shit like Resistance but Bioshock Infinites pre 1920's post Wild West style of American patriotism overdrive art seemed really cool.
Then throw in the elements of the floating city above the clouds and all the cross universe media bleed so barbershop quartets sing 'god only knows' or a pip organ at a fair plays 'girls just wanna have fun' and it made for some really nice environments to explore. With nice set pieces like the raven fetishising cult of masons that worshipped the man that shot Lincoln or a museum dedicated to the war against china that never happened IRL.
Its just a shame the game itself was a super shallow take on the ideas from the fake bullshot trailer and after the first few levels turns into a generic two gun shooter.
But man that art style still kicks my ass, you see people try and emulate it now and then, i knew a russian guy at my FLGS that made his malifaux figures Columbia themed and they looked really cool. It just seemed more unique and charming compared to stuff like Fallout 4 that wanted to drop some of its 'nukepunk' style in favour of a more soylent nuclear wasteland that just felt like walking through detroit after a hurricane or something.
