I've been playing Rival Showdown lately. I like that Kunio has a stronger personality instead of being a blank slate. The story stuff isn't too bad, but the game straight up tells you exactly where to go and when, so getting every event isn't really a challenge. The game is a serious grind though.

Yeah, Rival Showdown has to be the best show of Kunio's personality since forever. By the way, not every single event is gonna be shown on that map – if I remember correctly, part of getting the true ending is that you have to beat the game once and then do the Romeo and Juliet event which starts around the arcade I think and ends at day around the Hanazono shops at dusk, which is fucking stupid since it's extremely minor but really easy to miss.

Regardless, yeah, I find that the biggest flaw of the game. The real objective is to pretty much see and get everything, which ain't bad, but it can be a chore sometimes.

How the hell would a Custom Robo even work as a character unless they're like 5 times their real size. It's opposite the issue of Ridley. Of course they could just not give a shit and make it huge.

Then there's the issue of movesets. Alt costumes could have different weapon loadouts, i.e. default is RaymkIII/FlareGun/StraightBomb/TwinFlankPod/StandardLeg

Kunio's a classic, nig, just like Geno. Technically even more so. Of course no-one's gonna give a damn since most of his games don't have that Famicom quality anymore, but that never stopped Sakurai from putting in characters like Ice Climbers in Melee or Lucus in Brawl. Masahiro Sakurai came on stage during the Nintendo conference at E3 (which they were apparently doing again) dressed like a sexy maid (immediately drawing my curiosity) to announce that Nintendo had been bought by a hentai company called Twinkle Bell and as a result the next Smash Bros. game would be named "Super Smash Sex Symphony" (with a nice erotic pink logo where the "o" was a vagina and the "a" was a heart), only be released in Japan, and not be on NX, instead requiring the "New 4 U" Wii U addon attachment, which drew many boos. Sakurai was very upset about the crowd response and went off script to respond, "It is not my fault if Americans polish their forks and leave their spoons!", implying that was the reason that the game couldn't come to America.

It was supposed to be some sort of wise Japanese metaphor but nobody in the crowd knew what it meant so they started throwing Gamecubes (of all colors, even leopard print ones) at him, which my dream self automatically inferred to be a Melee-related protest. But Sakurai had anticipated this, and he put on (or at least I assumed it was his doing) a swanky Michael Jackson-esque dance soundtrack to groove to (and his outfit magically changed during a "camera angle" transition to be a fabulous sparkly sequin-covered suit with sunglasses as well) so he could deftly move around the flying multicolored consoles by dancing. And this was transparently overlaid with me reading a Kotaku-like article about how Sakurai was "paranoid", "out of touch", and a "confirmed Gamergater" because he was worried enough about people throwing Gamecubes at him to prepare for the possibility with the whole spectacle (even though it happened). The article had a big picture of both silverware and Sakurai's face with "vs." in the middle, like that was the big controversy, that Sakurai didn't like eating utensils. It also said his dance performance won a Grammy though. The author of the article, per his byline, was a pumpkin in a recently-tipped fedora and glasses. I giggled at the classic Internet stereotype of him wearing a fedora, but didn't really think much of him being a literal fruit.

So the dream then switches to me sneaking an imported copy of S4 (as it had come to be known) into my house with a bunch of exaggerated spy movie-esque shenanigans like cutting out the window as ominous music played in the background. The addon attachment, now called the Hyper U, was very complicated and required me to solve a weird Rubik's Cube-esque puzzle which involved using special gloves to manipulate some sort of force field that I could hear and maybe vaguely see an Elon Musk-like figure proudly terming "radiokinetic spaghetti dinner" in order to connect it to an American outlet. There were little bipedal llama-people on the cube playing some sort of tribal sport involving throwing giant rocks at each other who were protesting me interrupting the "holy ceremony" on their "native soil" (not that there was any soil) as I moved the spaces on the cube around, and the perspective got a little bit complicated for a bit, switching between me on the cube negotiating with them, me solving the cube in my room, and them on (their form of) social media (which they apparently had despite seeming pretty primitive) attacking me for selling "Chinese child pimping movies".

This seemed just as ridiculous in the dream as it does in real life, and it only motivated me to play the game more. I began throwing the little llamas into a pot of boiling oil that I was now using to cook next to me for some reason. Some of them managed to stay afloat in tiny boats and started shooting me with cannon balls while ominously threatening me with a trip to "the booty boys factory" (which actually scared me), but they were so small that they couldn't do much other than cause slight stings on my skin. I lamented the shipping company for letting the box get infested with "cardboard ants", and eventually got so frustrated that I tipped over the whole pot of oil on to my Wii U, which magically made the whole thing work and instantly started the game (and the cardboard ants were never heard from again).

It booted up to a very erotic musical montage opening video of the characters dancing, having sex, and engaging in a wide variety of fetishistic acts which had a special "Super Penis HD" feature that allowed me to see, in addition to with my two eyes, the video from a "third eye" embedded in the slit on my penis tip. It was very odd, but also quite arousing, and I could actually "see" little bits of precum forming on the "lens" of my "third eye". It felt like little people with fuzzy slippers on were moonwalking up my urethra. I was hypnotized and nearing orgasm, but a sudden noise scared me into pressing A and going to the main menu before anything happened. My excuse if I was caught playing the game was going to be that I was only playing it to beat Hungrybox so he'd be forced to donate more of his winnings to the Red Cross (dream logic said that was a saintly motivation that would make me look like a great guy), so I didn't want anybody to catch me watching the movie.

The actual game was somewhat similar to regular SSB, with some key differences. You had to play the normal Smash Bros. game, moving your regular character around, attacking, blocking, and such, with your feet, because you also played music on a very expensive (hundreds of dollars) instrument controller peripheral with your hands during the matches. There were tons of options on the CSS such as flutes, bongos, tubas, etc. and I remember thinking "Wow they're going to make more off of this shit than amiibos." It was basically a more advanced Guitar Hero or Wii Music combined with Smash, Dead or Alive, and a hentai game. Here's what I remember of the specifics of the game from the dream (with multiple descriptions of many features because the game's depiction was different every time it was shown):

Each character (newcomers included trigonometry, a Nazi cheerleader version of Wendy from Wendy's, multiple characters from Hyperdimension Neptunia, Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, Wendell Wilcox from the 90s sitcom "The Parent 'Hood", Windows 95, and a tri-wing screwdriver) had a female version (with trap options available too) of themselves (or if they were already female, a loli, jailbait, or MILF version you could choose between) hanging around in the background of the stage (who you could dress up in a variety of custom fetish outfits, one of them called "Your ex-girlfriend" which conveniently enough was a memorable outfit previously worn by an ex-girlfriend of mine) that would dance erotically while playing the instrument you previously chose, mirroring how you were playing it in real life (or leaving it to move by itself while they grinded on it or on a conveniently provided nearby pole), which was supposed to be timed to beats (of the game music) that would fly into a circle at the center of the screen (which you could hit with your main character to delay or destroy) like a normal rhythm game, except you could also freestyle which would cause all sorts of alterations to the game physics (which was supposed to be an AT to figure out) and/or weird psychedelic effects on the screen like a low budget Xbox Arcade indie game. The soundtrack was pulsing electronic remixes of Nintendo music.

Each successful note would buff your main character fighting in the foreground and/or heal some damage, and if you timed your attacks with the beats then they'd do more damage/knockback. If you missed any notes your female character would get molested and have pieces of their clothing ripped off by Chain Chomps, Deku Babas, Ridley, other Nintendo enemies, or sometimes random guys. You could take the instrument from your female version (or pull out a less-powerful copy of it) and beat the opponent with it (or play it and shoot elementally-themed music note projectile at them), or even tag your female partner in to the battlefield (in which case your male character would play the instrument in the background by having sex with it, thrusting into a newly formed vagina between two newly formed stereotypical "feminine legs" with high heels on attached to it). The female characters were weaker (though faster) than the male characters but if you killed somebody with them it took two stocks instead of one.

The tagged in character's penis grew as they got attacked (female characters would grow penises), getting thicker and longer until they sometimes dragged on the ground. They would get more erect when you hit your opponent and softer when you were getting hit. They would bounce and whip around and create weird hitboxes, but instead of doing damage, they'd just do a bit of hitlag and build up a meter that when full you could use to shoot off a giant rainbow cumshot (kind of like a smaller version of Samus's final smash that you could aim in any direction) that took 3 stocks if it killed your opponent. If you were soft you'd spray like a wild hose and make puddles of cum that your opponent could slip on (and you could slide on for extra horizontal momentum to extend combos).

Both made the female characters moan quite erotically and grope themselves while it happened (with the male characters screaming like in DBZ), my dream self developing a highly shameful erection at the sight of a feminine Link emptying her enormous, engorged member all over a stage similar to FD. There was also an odd mechanic where you'd get smaller in size if you were hit (like if you had eaten a poison mushroom but not as drastic and scaled with the damage) and your opponent would get correspondingly larger (and vice versa if you hit them). The percentages were replaced with complex mathematical formulae. If you won a game then the victory screen was your male character raping the opponent's female character (or raping them and forcing them into lesbian sex simultaneously if there were two), which you could control while you were browsing your game stats. Other than that, the movement and mechanics were both pretty fast and snappy too. I remember thinking that it was great that they brought back all of Brawl's, Sm4sh's, and Melee's ATs.

Anyway, I had bought a tuba controller because I had heard of an advanced technique called "tubadashing", but I was struggling to do it. I was upset because the female Bowser CPU (who was dressed like a stereotypical thick ghetto prostitute, orange mullet weave and everything) kept down-throwing me, which involved her twerking on my character. I wasn't sure if I was disgusted or aroused by her fat scaly ass. Then for whatever reason the perspective switched to me being at a tournament, which was in the same venue as APEX but had been forced down into the cramped, rat-filled basement of the building, and everybody was wearing various clown costumes because we were all embarrassed to be playing the game.

I was doing handwarmers (or footwarmers I guess) on a stage called "Yoshi's Meme", which was like Yoshi's Story except with a bunch of meme references. Randall was replaced with the "here come dat boi" frog on the unicycle going around the same track, except the frog was Wart from Super Mario Bros. 2 wearing sunglasses and hip-hop bling. I made a joke to a friend nearby about how Marth's girl version should just be regular Marth (because Marth looks like a girl lol original joke donut steal) and suddenly a fat neckbeard-looking guy got very offended because, as he pointed out, his girlfriend (everybody was dressed normally now for some reason) looked just like girl Marth. I was feeling confident in bullying this neckbeard so I said his girlfriend is hot and should dance like the girl Marth from the game then. I put on Chillin's diss track (which had incomprehensible lyrics) and suddenly she was in a skimpy outfit and started doing stripper-esque gyrations on a pole and elevated stage that spontaneously appeared. Everybody was throwing free wet napkin packets at her instead of money (and I thought to myself "Hah, that's because Smash players are poor!"). EE was in the background popping off in his commentary voice: "Oh heeeeell naw this is gonna be on reddit! Get your Vodlongs out!" (Apparently "Vodlong" was some Gyfcat or Oddshot-esque site, which my dream self knew.)

Her boyfriend (who was now more muscular and Chaddish looking) was apoplectic and challenged me to a "funny money match" (no idea what the difference is between that and a regular money match), which I accepted, and began destroying my Marth with his dual-necked guitar-shredding Falco, though his feet smelled like musty onions and I complained to myself about how he probably did it on purpose to cheat/distract me. I was playing a piano now instead of a tuba and was getting frustrated because my fingers were apparently covered in peanut butter from a sandwich that I had eaten earlier, which I began regretting. My opponent (who now had the appearance of Shroomed wearing a sort of tight red thonged dancing leotard and ballet shoes for some reason) remarked that he sucked at Melee but was really good at this game because he was a professional tap dancer as a kid (giving him good foot dexterity I suppose) so I paused and started ranting about how that was unfair and basically said that tap dancing was the same thing as doing PEDs. Everybody turned on me and started yelling at me because I made a now nearby Mew2King cry by implying that his My Little Pony fan club's "Fruit Harvest" (where they would stomp a bunch of fruit in a bucket with their feet and make juice for people to drink) should be banned.

But I didn't have to defend myself because the perspective quickly switched to a SWAT team rushing in and arresting or shooting everyone for what they loudly announced as "drawing illegal anime". Scar jumped in front of Armada to protect him from a bullet in a slow-motion movie-esque fashion, his arms straight at his sides like a heroic dolphin, doing commentary on the ongoing situation as it was entering him. "It's going in… I think this one's over… Aaaah!" The perspective then switched to a television report on Fox News about the game. They showed some really disturbing footage of Mario savagely beating Pikachu with a recorder. Mario had his sleeves rolled up and was whooping him like he stole something with the instrument while Pikachu was on his back in a rapidly growing pool of his own blood, impotently holding up his little paws and desperately shrieking "Pika pi! pika pi!" as he squirmed back and forth. They also showed footage of a crossdressing Donkey Kong belly dancing in a "Chiquita Banana"-esque outfit, ZSS tied up in some sort of weird electro-bondage getting spanked with a ping-pong paddle by a very upset Kirby, and a blushing female Yoshi in a schoolgirl outfit giving birth to eggs… in full detail. I remembered some of the clips from the game's opening video, but there was no "penis HD" functionality this time.

Then they switched to a "panel" with Donald Trump and Reggie, which was basically Donald ranting about how Smash was corrupting our youth, causing "Bongo Bones Syndrome" and "Mad Monkey Disease", and that Nintendo was working with ISIS, "believe me folks". Reggie started to deny it but as he was doing so a bunch of Islamic-style chants began playing in the background. The channel then switched to a picture of Fox McCloud, superimposed over footage of 9/11, proudly tilting his head upward in a turban, the "mission compree" sound effect playing as it faded into view, and then back to Trump nodding smugly. Reggie became so upset and red-faced in response that he was speechless, so he turned around, bent over, pulled down his pants/underwear, and spread his cheeks while pointing to his butthole and screaming "WHAT WE NEED IS LEADERSHIP". (I think he was implying that Donald Trump is an asshole, not a leader?)

The perspective then switched to a similar scene with Trump and Reggie, but at a political rally. The audience was wildly applauding Reggie's spread asshole, and the "camera angle" of the dream rapidly went back and forth between close-ups of Reggie's butt, Trump giving it a proud thumbs-up and saying stuff like "Spectacular!" and "This is a big deal folks!", and Reggie approvingly nodding with his lower lip jutted out in an expression of satisfaction. I'm not sure what grand revelation was inside of Reggie's slightly crusty brown-ringed anus but the people loved it. Reggie's butthole was in front of the lectern's mic and all of a sudden it moved like a pair of lips and loudly exclaimed in a computery voice "I am an origami asshole; fold me like A BITCH." which made people gasp.

It then pounced like a tiger to engulf the mic and started slurping on it like soupy pasta, causing these really wet and squishy noises to reverberate over the arena's speakers. The crowd went silent and then started booing and jeering as Trump threw up his hands in a gesture of exasperation and began walking away. Reggie looked like he was trying to hide his embarrassment, grinning at the crowd with a sheepish "Well, this kind of thing happens to everyone sometimes, right?" expression. Eventually Reggie's butthole ripped the mic off its stand and started eating it like a mouth, making grinding metallic noises and causing his hairy brown buttcheeks to ripple and slap together with every chew until it was fully swallowed. Reggie was turning purple and sweating profusely as this happened. Then there was a sound like a soda can opening, and a bunch of greenish-white foam began pouring out of Reggie's ass all over the podium and stage. Reggie had a look of peaceful relief on his face as his buttdam broke, and then Mango randomly appeared and put his open mouth under the strong flow of Reggie's foamy asspop like it was a beer keg, smirking mischievously and winking at the camera.

The perspective switched to me watching the scene at home on TV. I was officially disgusted by what I was witnessing at this point so I turned on S4 (which was actually now called Spiderman Symphony though I didn't notice the change) instead. Geno is wanted because of nostalgia. Super Mario RPG is still one of the most beloved games of all time and Geno was always the most popular character from there. I don't think that's enough at all to justify his inclusion but people really downplay how beloved SMRPG is. Ridley himself was not a meme, he was genuinely wanted, the arguments surrounding his possible inclusion and how heated they were is what became a meme.

Waluigi is the only character that's maybe a meme because there was a point in time people only liked him ironically. But I think that's changed to genuine desire because people like to root for the underdog, which is what Walugi and Daisy were. Personally, I'm so tired of Mario characters, Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings was the limit for me.
