Is 14,522.89 shekels, or 4000 US dollars enough money to get or build a good gaming pc?

Depends. If you need to play good video games you need way less than that.

Nigger, 600-700 bucks is enough, assuming you can find a graphics card for an okay price with all the fucking cryptoniggers around. I'm sure you can, still, you just have to look, maybe get a used one somewhere. I built mine four years ago for 600 and it runs everything okay, even games that other anons complained about, like A Tomato.

Max settings are the most jewish scam I've ever seen. Even the turboshills at DigitalFoundry have called Max Settings out, it's insane.

>600-700 bucks is enough, assuming you ignore the reason 600-700 bucks isn't enough

A mid range video card is $300, memory is another $300. You still need a CPU, mobo, ssd and ps/case. Crypto mining broke PC prices.

>>15181883

>memory is another $300

You mean RAM, or storage? Either way, that's in no way realistic, unless you're getting 64 gigs of ram and a terabyte of SSD storage.

3d1936 No.15181908

>>15181900

I mean memory, like I said. That's RAM. And even if you go with a tiny 16GB that's $200. Go look at prices instead of assuming nothing has changed since 4 years ago.

Prebuilts are perfectly usable to play most good games.

5e6e89 No.15181963

Bitch, in 2010 I built a PC for $500, which was $300 after rebates, that could play most of this generation's games mid-high settings 1080p 60 fps. Only thing I upgraded was GPU. And to upgrade now I need $200 (one of my GPUs died) and new fans. If you're smart and find the right deals you can scrap together a decent new PC from parts only for maybe $450-600 total with some cash back in rebates if you're willing to build yourself.

4df1fa No.15182005

>>15181908

>16gb

>tiny

8gb is more than enough for pretty much any application you could be running, unless you fell for the VR meme. Also, 16 gigs is around $150 now, not $200. As for video, a 1060 is about $240, while a 1050 is around $140. The RX 570 and 560 are about the same prices, respectively. Motherboards are cheap, and if you spend more than 100 bucks on one you are probably paying more than its worth. Unless OP plans on buying something supremely retarded like an i9 there is no way he should spend more than $1000 on a build, if anything he should be spending far less.

9c9f76 No.15182016

>>15181592

Yeah, that's way more than enough. It's a pretty cheap hobby compared to stuff like ricing your car. I've been running FFXV at max settings on a computer that costs ~$1200. GTX 1060 (6GB) with 16 GB of RAM will have you set for a long while too.

ba7ef4 No.15182044

You can get a really good one for ~500-800 bucks.

The only issue you might run into is deliberate antioptimization on some games to cripple AMD cards on the highest settings.

ba7ef4 No.15182058

Also for the love of god you only need like 8gb of ram for everything if you JUST play games, and even with light production work you still only need like 8gb.

A PC is not a console. Just because you can barely manage to run a game without swapping with only 8GB, doesn't mean that's all anyone needs. Normal people also run lots of other applications, and want to leave some of them open while playing a game. Depends what you want. For the vast majority of people $4k would be overkill, but some retards like to spend all their money on it so if that's your thing go for it just don't expect to impress many people. If you don't have unlimited money it may be better in the long run to buy something cheaper now and update some years later than staying longer with a more expensive computer.

It's a continuous source of despair for me that never before have we had such amazing tools for story telling, which basically amount to the full realization of the imagery shamans would try to conjure in their rites and rituals with altered states of mind and the power of suggestion in ancient times, casting ideas straight from the mind to the senses of others, but it's exclusively used to tell the grotesque narratives of malformed Jewish minds and their creatively bankrupt shabbos goyim work dogs.

>You can't tell the difference between minimum and maximum graphics settings; it's just a Jewish conspiracy!! You can totally play games with a toaster and never notice a difference!

Idiot.

As for OP, there's a severe diminishing-returns on computer hardware after you pass about $1500 (maybe $1800 because GPUs are expensive as hell right now). Can you spend $1000 per GPU and run two of them? Sure, but it'll only be something like 10% better than a single $600 GPU. Can you spend $800 on 64 fucking GB of RAM? Sure, but you'll never need that much unless you're doing some kind of Disney-tier 3D video rendering. Can you drop a grand on a full-size case that's so roomy that you can store a two-year-old child in there between the CPU heatsink and PSU? Sure, but what the fuck for?

Can you spend $4000 on a computer? Bitch, you can spend $6000 if you try hard enough building it yourself (or over $10K if you get someone else to do it for you). But you won't be getting much better than a $2000 computer at that point. It's just for bragging rights among very rich people; same as the difference between a $50K car and a $500K car, same as the difference between a $200 watch and a $2000 watch. Don't be fooled: a PC for $500 is going to be garbage for gaming: that's the kind of thing you get for grandma who won't be doing anything more than watching youtube videos and playing Candy Crush. Spend at LEAST a thousand, but any more over that is going to be hard to justify, and once you pass $2K it's pointless.

Regardless of the final price, follow the basic rule of thirds: a third of the cost on the GPU, a third on the CPU plus heatsink, and a third on everything else. Get the cheapest case that will hold everything you need, get 8GB of DDR4 RAM and whatever motherboard you can scrape up that is compatible (make sure it has a PCI-e slot), spend around $100 on a PSU (you don't want to cheap out on the one component that can fry everything else), get a 2TB HDD, and consider an SSD for your boot drive because ain't nothin' better than switching on your computer and having it ready to go in ten seconds flat.
