Eternal has a pretty good F2P model. You get a lot of free shit, there's a free grinding gauntlet, and you can get cards relatively quickly, especially if you're good at drafting.

Also if you want to play MTG, just use Cockatrice.

I think yu-gi-oh duel links is pretty fun, even if konami are kikes.

Been playing Gwent. It's very simplistic and it seems the midwinter update fucked it. Upcoming Homecoming patch is now going to redo the entire game, change bronze limits to 2-of and rows to 2 from 3 as well. I feel like it's going to be a dumpster fire by the time CD Projekt is done ruining it as they keep fixing what wasn't broken. To be clear, I joined after the midwinter update, but I can still feel the overtuned balance and wonky weather mechanics (they're like shitty 2 point engines). The weird create mechanic switch (doppler was a difficult card to use before and is unplayable garbage now) also demonstrates that godawful approach they have to balance.

On the upshot of things if you play now your cards will get full mill value on all those redundant cards when the giant redo patch hits and fucks everything.

Is anyone still playing it? I fiddled with it way back and stopped after that. I will say that their card economy is much better than the lootbox and mill crap shit like Gwent and Hearthstone has going for it. You cannot fucking trade cards at all in Gwent (or Hearthstone, I imagine).

Hex felt like a very momentary blip to be honest. Novelty sustained it at first for being a new MtG type thing but after a while you got tired of how ridiculous the cards all were and the formats started getting boring. There are all kinds of improvements you can make on MtG if you're doing a new take but Hex copied all kinds of unnecessary crap like the ability to get mana screwed and mana floods.
