Where's the PSP my boyo?
Non-action heavy games can be played nicely even with the touchscreen.
I can attest that Danganronpa and Patapon(even with the input delay) work okay if you tweak the touchscreen controls enough.
Non real times games such as JRPGs and tactical RPGs all are gonna be no trouble. Brandish, Disgaea and Grand Knights History(patched) are all good for that.
For DS you'll want the games that had focus on the touch feature in the first place, but not the ones that require too much fast precision, since the Anroid has some delay, and the DS emulator is shit and adds more delay on top of that Wario Ware and Rhythm Heaven become almost inpossible. Ace Attorney and Professor Layton are erfect for it. I managed to play Ragnarok DS and it worked surprisingly well.
A pokémon game of your preference is also nice to have. If you were never into the series, Heartgold/Soulsilver seems to be the best one.
For actual Android games I recommend the game "Okay?" that is free and other games made by the same dev. They're fun little simple puzzle games that are very unique, the most interesting one being supertype, but it's paid.
And if you want some classic games like tetris and shit it's probably better to get an android version that works better with the touchscreen.
I got a game called Panelore that is basically Panel de Pon but made with cellphone interface in mind.
My most played games are the Game & Watch Galleries 1 trough 3 for the GBC. Shit just works and it's perfect for pickup and play.
Pokémon Pinball on the GBA is also pretty good.
