This shit is the best space combat sim no one's ever heard of. Let's take a look at some features:
>The enemies are pretty smart and can easily outmaneuver you and coordinate their attacks
>Your wingmen are equally as smart
>Earliest known example of regenerating health/shields/armor (slow-paced) in a fast action game
>Said regeneration is tied into a moderately complex repair and power management system where you have to prioritize repairs and systems power based on your ship's reactor's output
>You can steal enemy ships by sapping their power, locking on with a tractor beam, and warping home. All the enemy ships are available for hijacking.
>Every ship has a different graphical interface.
>You can customize what each of your monitors in the HUD displays
>You can give orders to your wingmen
>You can have lots of wingmen depending on the mission
>The story is fucking excellent and the initially one-note characters are slowly given quite a bit of depth. The morality of your actions as a squadron leader of the Goreen Empire will slowly be called into question in the best ways
>There's a choice to be made halfway through the game which will completely change the course of the rest of it. You must manually accomplish a very difficult task to choose one of the options

at this point even Wing Commander would fall into that category
