And I should also add that I have had this problem with other games where you have to use the D-pad instead of the analog sticks for the PS1/2

When the 3DS came out with the circle pad, that really hurt my hand. I couldn't play anything longer than 20-30 minutes. For some reason, that no longer happens, and I can play indefinitely.

Final Fantasy:Theaterhythm did it for me, but that was because the control style that came naturally to me was the hybrid style of using the stylus and stick which put a good amount of strain on my left hand since it was the one holding the DS.
Kinda similar to >>15166145, but for that one I could just wedge my palm against the side for added support since I didn't need to see what was on the touch screen to play.

I could actually do those with just my thumb, the true evil of these mini games is that they killed controllers since the circle motion causes the soft plastic in the analog sticks to grind down like mad.

Does anyone remember Nintendo having to offer gloves to people who purchasing Mario Party 1 in certain locations because of consumer complaints? I never knew anybody who actually got some, but I do remember seeing them in magazines.
As an old-fag, I find button mashing and waggle shit to be annoying. I'd rather something that requires solid technique and a good tempo/rhythm to succeed, but I guess that just isn't as immediately accessible to most people.

Threads on just each game itself probably were never all that common because I feel like there just isn't much to say about any one rhythm game. Here's the mechanics, what's your favorite song, etc. They were fun but there's not much room for discussion. A rhythm game general, on the other hand, lets you talk about all kinds of rhythm games, the strengths and weaknesses of each, their control schemes, track lists, and so on.
