Are the atelier games the only alchemy focused games out there? Can I mod Oblivion so that its alchemy has depth?

>Can I mod Oblivion so that its alchemy has depth?

yes, you can get a mod that lets you brew the uninstall potion

I think I've heard that Noora and the Time Studio is similarly crafting focused, but I'm not certain myself how deep it goes into it. No English release of course (and no translation patch at present either; effort went on hiatus).

Play Magnum Opus and Spacechem

Well, there's Kamidori Alchemy Meister.

The "best" crafting rpgs ive played have been rpgmaker games. What am I missing?

Not that gust's atelier series are definitively what an 'alchemy' game should be, but I don't think OP is asking for alchemy-themed puzzle games as much as he is asking for item-crafting focused games.

>Oblivion

Why does Oblivion come to mind before even Morrowind when thinking of games with 'alchemy' features in them?

In fairness the Oblivion system was still plenty powerful in its game even if it's not stupidly overpowered, and allows creation of poisons which I found surprisingly enjoyable. It's also fine that the system is straightforward "mix 2 or more things that have what you want, without things you don't" especially with poisons since a single good effect makes them worthless.

I hope the Arland trilogy remaster come West and on PC so that I can finally give it a try.

Get a vita or PSTV, easy as hell to CFW and covers basically every PS3 exclusive game. Pstv is also pretty cheap. This is assuming you're not just shitposting about >mustardrace or some kind of steam shill since arland series are genuinely pretty decent games even if you don't care about the aesthetic and you really should try them, unlike everything in dusk or mysterious, which are basically only playable if you're already an Atelier fan.

As someone who hasn't played the game yet and considering the importance of the scene from the image you posted I'm inclined to think you might not be speaking entirely honestly.

I don't feel like investing money or time on another platform, I'll just wait for the likely port while enjoying something else.

0cb3c7 No.15158382

I would totally play any of the PC ports but it's a shame they're all buggy shit fucking garbage and cannot run without crashing every 5 minutes.

The games have launched in terrible states but Kekmo has managed to provide decent support and game fixing updates, most issues should be ironed out.

Grab a torrent and give the ports a try if you're not feeling confident.

Please don't actually play any Mysterious series games as your first entry. They're just all around bad or average at best games (character and gameplay wise) and you'd be better off emulating the older 2D games if you can't get any Arland entries first.

>provide decent support and game fixing updates,

>Game runs 100% on all cores at release

>'Patched' several days later

>Now it's just regular bloated instead of an actual fire hazard

It's sad that this really does pass for 'decent support' these days.
