Unless you really cannot wait for a new vanillaware title, I would reccomend against this. Even with basic character upgrades, not enough momentum can be gained for big combos, as you cant really juggle enemies after one pop up, or even a heavy attack on the ground. Every other action game gives you at least one additional pop up for a downed enemy, how come this game doesn't? The animation looks like it's been tweened, as well.

So I played it a bit, it was ok, but now it's officially "released" and I didn't see a final update to bring it to release state.

It's alright, you need to play on hard or above though: The game is pretty easy.
I came into it thinking the only redeemable quality it would have would be its art style but it was surprisingly decent. It's not exceptional, and I don't see myself playing it again, but it was alright and I guess it was worth 2-4 bucks.

Icey was shit though, because the whole fucking game was subverted to make some terrible meta jokes. If it had just been a generic barebones cliche story with decent art and alright gameplay - it could have been something more than the sum of it's parts, but instead it went off the rails as a "break this game in very easy and obvious highly telegraphed ways for a meme reward".
It's trophy/achievement bait, with just enough decent gameplay to give you blueballs, and little else.
