As for strategy games, I don't play them much, but I think Dawn of War 3 is the peak of the genre. And the warhammer setting sure does help ! WAAAGH !!! hehe. I guess the whole strategy genre will stop existing soon, it's too boring and people don't like that lol.

Burnout Revenge is god awful, at least on the PSP. Everything is so dark you can barely tell where the track is, if you fuck up once you're pretty much out of the race because it's a lot more difficult to build boost. I mean that's how every racing game works in essence, but that's exactly why I hate regular racing games - you cannot come back after one mistake.

No it's not. First, source visuals just can't compare to what x shooter 2 have to offer, second, Alien swarm is too rigid and has actually nothing to do with top down horde survivals, since it's more of a "rush through the stage while avoiding hordes coop" (well duh, it's l4d but topdown) - shooter games are just way more dynamic and have less to do with choke point abuse and waiting things out, third, Alien shooter has multiplayer.

Well, in L4D you too need to stop due to objectives, it's just that in Alien swarm there are more objectives, so you have to stop more. The best example of L4D mentality in the swarm in its purest form is picrelated. The bridge stage, sewers and the last stage are also good examples.
