There's an online version of Ace Attorney around, it's called Attorney Online. Oldfags probably remember it as /v/ used to play it every now and then, we even had a server. Well, today the game is dying slowly, the amount of regular players is around 100 and I really wish the activity could increase because this is my favorite game ever, I've never had as much fun as I have playing this.

Technically speaking, it's already been made, but with AO. Imagine instead of Ace Attorney characters, you instead have DR characters and instead of doing things in a singular area you are released in a list of places, usually a school or an island, and can travel to and from places by essentially following a chain of order of places.
Murders happen when someone successfully kills a bitch via actions, which can be decided by a number of factors such as, but not limited to rolls, stats, Ultimate Talent and Backstory. This is highly dependent on the GM running the entire thing in question however, so keep that in mind. There are a couple of servers that do run these sorts of things, But sadly your experience can either go quite well to straight up abysmal.
SDRS is one such place, if you do ever plan on joining one such Killing Game, I highly suggest lowering your expectations tremendously.

Late last year there was a bizarre youtube algorithm that caused a shitposting AO video to be heavily recommended to people.
This brought in a bunch of people who got the wrong idea of what the game was about. Brainlets will blame the youtuber for this, when in reality he's not at fault. He never planned for that to happen.
The real issue came from when the admins of the various servers didn't do anything to adjust for the massive influx of players.
As a result just about every server got a bunch of kids and memers who didn't want to case but just meme around in the lobbies of various servers, using it as a shitty mp3 player and chatroom.
On AOV, those "players" formed little cliques and proceeded to go around ruining cases and barely anyone ever had the balls to call them out.

A Decision Game is a format based off the Zero Escape series, Zero Time Dillemma to be exact. Normally it's 9 players given backstories and forced to solve puzzle rooms and make touch choices. I prefered the older ones where bigger plots were involved. Ambidex Games are better for this reason.

Alright, I've been there and back and might as well share my thoughts on the server for those too lazy to do it themselves (can't blame ya, all of it together is like 6 GB). While I didn't get to play any trials, I did catch enough people for a few games of Mafia (I was pic related). I'll be honest, there's some meme-spouting going on. For gods' sake, they named their latest update after that shitty Steamed Hams meme. But playing in-character and trading improvised banter (or doing things are get a reaction out of everyone, like turning a ho-hum "do-nothing" phase while the Townies want to get more information into a game-ending string of revelations just by declaring your intention to marry someone is really goddamn fun.
I'll probably check in again tomorrow and hopefully find myself in a case, then report back on what I experience on what this RP chatroom's priding itself on.

This is not off topic. The AOV (as in what this thread is about) testers aren't using their new roles to test. They are deliberately following the people trying to host DnD on AOV so they can crash it. Half of the people trying to play were derouted from the main AOV server; if they weren't they would have been in MPC on AOV. They were instead in Area 1 of the testing server–not area 0–so people had to PURPOSEFULLY switch away from an empty area which they could very well test in to a second area to even see it happening.
Liquid, Japman and Adachips, 3 people the mods of AOV hand picked as their underlings, are trying to justify being dicks and ruining other peoples' experiences on AOV by using the Tester role they were just given.
