Unless you roll a thief character, that is. Then you're going to be stuck with QFG2 stats because they forgot to give thieves anything to fucking do.
The series was always planned to go right from Shapier to Mordovia to Silmaria as a quadrilogy. Four elements, four corners of the earth, four seasons, four winds, four games in each series - etc. QFG1 Being North/Spring/Wind, QFG2 being South/Summer/Fire, QFG "3" being West/Fall/Earth, and QFG "4" being East/Winter/Water
The only reason QFG3 exists, is because the thought the character didn't have enough growth in the first two games to handle the storyline of Mordovia, and they introduced the Paladin class at the end of QFG 2 but didn't have any time to actually flesh it out and you wouldn't get the chance to train as a Paladin once you were in Mordovia. So they just injected QFG3 into the series pretty much just as a Paladin expansion - with a few Mage perks since Paladin had some spellcasting common ground with it. Thieves, though? They got fucked on content.
