Let's have another Racing General. It was fun the last time. What's the best setup to prevent my pedals and my office chair from moving if I'm a poorfag?

>Remember to heel-toe guys

3cf0ef No.15142167

Shove something between the pedals and the wall and put something heavy behind your chair. That's what I do.

Does anyone know how to setup a FFB wheel in BeamNG? It feels like ass each time I play this game. I have a Logitech Driving Force GT.

My issues are: shit FFB (while steering first it's kinda good and at one point in the steering it just stops having any FFB), downshifting makes the wheel move to the right for a second (had the same issue in Wreckfest) and also each times I downshift there's a notification saying "FFB controler detected, force feedback disabled on other controllers" even though I don't have any other controller plugged in.

It's a complete shitshow and I don't even know where to start to fix all of this.

I use a couch.

I tried just sitting in it, but it's a shit position for pretend driving. The flooring however, is fucked.

Too much of a poorfag to even have pedals but couldn't you just nigger rig a support? Get a rod of some kind, attach it to your chair either via rope or duct tape and the other end to the pedals at the right length.

It'll either break or prevent your chair from moving. If you do move your chair on purpose be careful not to slam the pedals against the wall though.

I've been playing a lot of Sega Rally recently, throwing the Celica around hairpins never gets old. I can't get enough of arcade racers, and I'd be greatful for some obscure recommendations: I've already played Daytona to death.

I look forward to Assetto Corsa Competizione. It will make me not want to choose to play project cars 2, as it will have just as good graphics.

On the next "generation bump" for occulus/vive headsets I shall complete the dream of decent driving immersion. Which will probably be at least 2 years. Meantime I wait for the next generation of monitors (mfg'd by AUO) which will come out this/next month, sporting 1440p+240hz with improved .5ms gray to grays.

Nothing like waiting, still waiting for Nvidia to release their gtx 11xx series which will be announced in August at Europe's Gamescom or whatever its called.

So I've seen some videos on things like making pedals, second screens, etc but only modding a wheel. Is there no cheaper way to get a wheel than buy one?

f389a2 No.15147828

Forza and GT need custom tracks or a track creator because I won't buy the same game every few years for a minor physics and graphics upgrade. Seriously I can't keep racing on the same tracks I did almost a decade ago on GT4. It's why I love Horizon, all that freedumb

Ohh man, I bet a full racing setup like that is expensive as fuck. Racing wheels alone start at 200 bucks, and that's basically like the bare minimum. Speaking of wheels, I wish they (or controllers) came with media keys so I could quickly change foobar songs in the middle of the race without having to pause and reach for my keyboard.

I have played some Wreckfest lately and the AI is really starting to piss me off. I don't have a good video of it yet because this kind of shit happens in 1 out of 4 matches or something like that and I don't record every time I play. I swear, the AI sometimes sabotages itself just to stop you. You know this thing that a lot of people do? Instead of breaking when a turn comes up they just crash into the guy driving in front of them. They AI is doing the same. It took a while for me to realize this, but I constantly saw AI driving past me and right into the fucking wall. Sometimes I fly past an AI and break their wheel, trying to drive into me but crash into the wall instead because I drove to fast past them. Setting damage to realistic is basically playing on easy mode. The AI constantly crashes into shit. Look at the attached match, all but one AI crashed and destroyed their vehicles.

How is the g29 compared to the g920? I can get either of those for 190 bucks and I really don't wanna spend more on a wheel right now. I prefer the xbox keys because I used to own one ages ago but the playstation version seems to come with extra buttons and shit.

3cf0ef No.15163342

>>15163085

The buttons are the only real difference no? Just think about which layout you prefer. I only own the G29, I doubt you'll find anyone here who bought both just to compare them.

As an aside; those couple of extra buttons are more than welcome in my opinion.

Well, the ps3 one seems to have more buttons and on top of that a little screen. From what I read online it's rev counter or something. Too me it looks like the g29 is just overall better than the g920. More features for the same price.

Do you by any chance got its torque and speed figures? Does it have this thermal throttle of death problem like did the previous models? Is the "toothing" still felt easily?

I own an old G27 and while for it's money it's a half-decent setup, the wheel itself is a fucking piece of shit. It doesn't even have a standard wheel mount compatible bolt positions, they're off proper radius just by a couple of millimeters, like what the fuck. Next wheel I'll own will be a DIY direct drive thing.

c12c84 No.15166008

Grid 2 doesn't even work with my wheel, does that thing where it constantly scrolls the moment my wheel turns even .1% in a direction. Considering just pirating the PS3 Grid games to see if that improves things any.

Do Grid and Dirt even share the same developers? Seems like Dirt is much nicer about wheel support.

Don't get me wrong, RFactor was great one point in time but it's really beginning to show its age. We need something to replace it, much like we need something to replace NR2003 if only that kike David Kaemmer made a single-player version of iRacing

sort of, smaller wheels have the effect of gearing down the drivetrain, meaning it requires less torque to turn them

it will also significantly lower your top speed, though
