sent an email way back in 2016 and just recently checked my mail to receive this email regarding if E.Y.E 2 is in development.
you think it's possible we'll get another one with an expanded story on what happened with Rimanah and Shinji Osajima?
Will the cycle be broken and a new path take route instead of the endless purgatory the protagonist is in?
eitherway I just wanted to share, E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy thread if anyone is interested in discussing the game itself

Is it even possible to mod EYE? I'd have very much liked to make hacking less unwieldy and more viable, though since they couldn't release the SDK to EYE because of some licensing issues, I wouldn't know where to even begin trying to mod the game logic.

The Warhammer game they made recently looked like E.Y.E 2 to me.

Maybe it will be a completely different genre. I'd play a CRPG set in the EYE universe. I'd like it even more if they released the tabletop game EYE is based on

A CRPG would be great. From that email OP received it seems like they may be moving away from their Fed Swat-clone idea. While that sounds cool I'd much rather see Streum-on's take on a different genre.

I really hope they revisit the EYE universe but I would much rather they do so with a brand new story. The original game's plot works really well on its own and I think a direct sequel, story-wise, would only cheapen the first.
Supposedly they have been throwing ideas around for EYE 2 for a while now.
If you are hankering for more EYE-ish stuff, there's a HL1 mod they made back in the early 2000's called Syndicate Black Ops. It plays somewhat like a much more difficult and less cohesive EYE.

That's funny considering E.Y.E and its leadership is an obscure sect while, corruption issues aside, the Federation is doing its best to maintain order, fight the aliens and purge the mutants.

The obscurity gave the story more flare but it wasn't necessary. A different story with a different plot structure would help make the sequel feel unique and separate from the original. I would however like the odd dialogue to stay. Not that it should be as poorly translated as the last time, but that it be vague, foreign and mysterious.

A french fa/tg/uy that know them once said he had asked them and the tabletop is a horrible mess of a homebrew in binders and loose sheets, that they wrote when they were literally 15 and isn't even complete anymore (IIRC).
Also in it's original french the writing itself a lot of it isn't mature or serious at all (the theme is the same but too many things sounds like the edgy rambling of a teen as it should, most of it gets lost in the translation).
For example "Brouzouf" is a reference to a sci fi parody TV show (which itself reference older Valerian comics), it's sometimes used as slang to say money in french but only comically.

To tell you all, before we signed up with focus, we were thinking a EYE game (we had already started pre-production for some time) which happened before the first game and would play like a tactical shooter (like swat 4) with big influence from GITS and Avalon, with a bit of RPG, it stays in our boxes nevertheless (i don't really know how to translate this expression, it basically means they still have the work they did on that game). To speak of UE4, we can't really tell anything but it's very different from the 3. We will also miss the source (i guess he means the source engine), it has a great personnality, and when you see what it does on titan fall it's tempting, but after all it's good to discover new engines, it changes things a bit.
Otherwise about manga, we would love to work on GITS, Akira or Blame, but it's not in the agenda for the moment.
There it is, i hope the translation is not too sloppy.

Nah its good, thanks.
The ghost in the shell inspirations are pretty obvious in EYE, but I never really thought about Blame. In retrospect though its very obvious with the yuge buildings on most of the maps. A game in the same style as EYE set in either of those universes makes my dick rock hard, hopefully they could acquire the rights if they wanted too, given that they handled 40k pretty well.
>>15139841
I don't think anyone has ever praised EYE for its AI, rather for its easily-broken and fun gameplay, god tier aesthetics, and french mistranslations.

re:Avalon being mentioned as an inspiration for EYE 2, note that in terms of story Avalon has a pretty similar bent to EYE, asking questions about the nature of reality (and the nature of one's perception of reality) by way of its main character's place in a virtual reality game that's sorta like an online STALKER, only in a film that came out six years before STALKER did. Pic related.
