I loved the music and atmosphere in DS2, couldn't get enough of exploring the world and dungeons. Combat was flawed but good enough. I really want to see a good action-adventure/zelda-like/whatever game get released because apparently even Zelda has stopped doing that now. Seems like they've released so little that I'm not even sure if this that kind of game right now and Fury's redesign makes me lose a lot of hope since graphical design was something the 1 and 2 did exceptionally well.

Loot was fucking stupid in Darksiders 2. Nioh at least took a bit of thought and effort to become broken. In Darksiders 2, all you need is to upgrade your crit chance, get a heal from damage, and use the power that makes you hit twice with each attack. At 50% crit rate you will heal your entire health bar every time you attack, making you virtually immortal.

That fire hair thingy is the eponymous 'Fury Mode'. Bit on the nose, but whatever - I'd very much like it if they added differing traversal modes as well along with the lava walk, what with them harping on about interconnected dungeons/world and all. A part of resource management (none of it shown here cause it's at journo difficulty) would be tossed up between maneuvering and flame-based DOT vs heavy-hitting strikes leaving enemies vulnerable to executions.

To summarize, gameplay definitely improved from the past alpha build despite journo doing his utmost to show off his ineptitude. Lots of changes from the alpha build shown in OP's video, looks actually consistent and fun now if the 1-minute trailer is any indication.
Do note that the journo had a dev communicating with him, otherwise would have never known to make one of the nonhostile critters eat the lava (carry-overs from DkS1 and 2, but making them eat goo never came into it). I dislike that they went first person in the tunnel shortcuts instead of treating the player to a better view, but given that Fury's armor is aesthetically MMO shit (clank, clank, clank) and the devs would have been much better served keeping the comic appearance. Least she doesn't have pupils now even in promo art, though her face is weirdly ugly.

I sadly don't think DSIII will do too well. The series was never huge and its been gone a long time. If Fury was more like, Ivy for example, then there would be more buzz. Also does her whip have cool stuff other than hitting enemies, like tying them up, using it as a grappling hook?
The real game is Strife's, which I hope they do right. Something like Vanquish combined with the Gunslinger style from DMC with a little Stranglehold perhaps for cool stunts and moments.
