… I was gonna say that there is nothing wrong with being bad at games.. but ffs, most games these days suck so bad that you should have no problem beating them on hard right away. I do it that way too. Styx for example is a game that I randomly picked up because an anon recommended it too me. It is a stealth game. It's not even my genre and I play it on hardest settings right away. When you play on hard you can't fight back. If you run into an enemy they kill you in one hit.
That said, I take pride in being only slightly above average in video games. I spend so much time in my youth on gaming that I could have spend on other things. Right now I have a decent job and I much rather use my time to advance in real life than spending time getting better at games. Just think how much time it takes to master certain games. Like racing games for example. You race same tracks with different setups just to see which one fits your playstyle best and then you have to learn all the tracks too. Then there are strategy games, like c&c pa:titans and dota. You can play those games for 200 hours and you will still suck at them.

I've done it before, dumped hundreds of hours into an FPS and dominated in most matches I played and it's just not worth the time investment. When you're killing guys it's a nice little "yeah!" feeling, but when you get killed it's like a gut punch and it just skyrockets my stress levels and makes me easily annoyed, quick to anger and just a cunt to be around. That's nothing, i passed up lost odyssey, tales of vesperia, beautiful katamari and ace combat 6 in pristine condition and with their booklets all for 20 bucks in favour of the three modern warfare games for 30 because i realized i was lacking first person shooters for my console, the worst part is that the modern warfare games are kind of shit and THEY'RE FUCKING COD GAMES, i could have bought them at any fucking time for much cheaper, and even then the halo games are vastly superior, i didn't buy them all because i only had 30 dollars on me at the time, next day i went to that store again and the games were gone, i even asked an employee if they had them on the back or something and i make it a point not to talk to anyone in vidya stores to save myself the embarassment of either revealing my power level, stuttering while trying to pronounce the title of a japanese game or having a fellow autist following me back home because he wants to talk about games we both like.
To this day the only game i was able to find again was ace combat 6, but only the platinum hits version, i paid 20 for it the rest i bought digital in holiday sales but i'd still like to own them physical and i don't trust ebay, amazon or craigslist with my games, they may be scratched to shit or come in a black dvd cases without the manual and original cover art.
