I hate how the environments of bioshock infinite aren't just set dressing, but feel entirely like it. It wears its aesthetic on its sleeve but its such a hollow gesture. Why would a laboratory have signage used for advertising? That's ridiculous. The rooms aren't built for purpose, they're built for padding, feeling more like a museum tour than a real place. I can't remember how the original sounded now and I don't feel like looking it up, but the japanese here sounds a little too old. Not full on granny like a number of English little girl dubs (Neptunia is one of the most egregious offenders), but she could easily pass for a girl in her 30s (or a mature 20-something).
That said, Japanese voice actors are just better, mainly because they actually take their job seriously. In English voice acting isn't a prestigious job at all, so either you get a bunch of flunkies to read the lines with absolutely no talents, you use the same few "professionals" used in every single thing ever, or you hire "real" celebrities who still don't actually care. Japanese voice actors are (lesser) celebrities in and of themselves, so the industry has talent and competition within itself rather than borrowing from others or making do.

What you don't get though is the cheesy writing. With games I've never seen a reason to use English localized voices. Neptunia is a prime example of that. Also I like Noire and Uni a lot. Blanc is cool too. This is because in American media, voice acting is a joke. It's done by either fuckups who couldn't make it in real acting (nearly all anime dub VAs), or real actors hired on for marketing reasons. Spanish and Arabic are annoying to hear. Chinese and Korean are off, but tolerable. Any African "languages" are painful to listen to. Latin is cool and interesting. Some languages are simply more pleasant to the ears than others.
The language itself isn't the only aspect to it either. There's a noticeable difference in effort and quality when comparing English and Japanese voice acting. There's more emotion in the Japanese voices. For English voices, it's hard to get the right emotion or any at all. This is because English voice actors don't have to try as had, so long as they get the usual guys to do it.

I always pictured and thought of French as a faggy sounding language until I heard an actual masculine man speak it. It is a complete makeover.
