Do the tutorial if it's your first time playing. You can skip specific tasks that are stupid, ie. "look at the meteor".
It takes research/skill books to unlock tech, usually all unlocked books are available at the Library (ask others for location, subject to change). Right click on a book to get a skill scroll, then right click on scroll to learn tech.
You can change the chat format by pressing Tab, then C.
When cutting trees, make sure to remove the tree stump (prevents regrowth of the tree) and the branches (blocks foliage growth).
If you need building materials, ask/check the economy tab (Y) to see who is selling them, you can get a much better deal than trying to make it yourself.
Don't spend skill points on Hunting, Digging, Mining, Logging. SP can be refunded, but you lose 30% of invested SP on each refund.
Farming does not work like in other games, if you just plant a bunch of shit in a random location, you will get very poor results. Read https://eco.gamepedia.com/Agriculture, use map overlays and if you can get one, a Soil Sampler.
<if something natively grows in a location, you can usually plant it right there though

It really is a weird system, but you might have been trying to mix multiple types of room items in the same room which caused it to spazz out. The best thing to do is make a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and general room. Each of the rooms named can have general room items in them as well. Try to balance the points between all four and you get a bonus. I think they were trying to make people actually give a shit about making nice looking room but in the end it makes everything worse, you end up with rooms that have 50 chairs placed haphazardly.

Deeds are no longer items that you can carry in your inventory.
Replaced "Property Claim Flags" with a "Land Claim Stake" tool and "Land Claim Papers". The Land Claim Stake works similarly to how claim flags used to work - hold it and right click to claim some land. It also has some new features. You can hold it and left click on claimed land to unclaim it. You can also target claimed land with it and press 'E' to open the deed window for that land. The Land Claim Stake uses Land Claim Papers. Each paper represents your right to claim 1 plot of land. Unlocking skills will grant you Land Claim Papers, in the same way it used to grant you Property Claim Flags previously.
When you claim land with the Land Claim Stake, the deed that the land is attached to is no longer determined by the deed in your inventory (since you can't have deeds in your inventory). Rather, it is determined by the deeds of nearby plots belonging to you, and . If there are none within range, a new deed is created.
The treatment of vehicles versus stationary objects with regards to deeds and authorization has been unified, and the 'Auth' tab of the object window - which has been renamed to the 'Authorization' tab and given an overhaul to improve both clarity and appearance - will appear for both. No more 'Lock' toggle for vehicles - they now have full authorization settings support just like stationary objects (that is, the ability to set them to public, whitelist, or inherit from deed mode).

I am still struggling with adding all species, it seems the map actually does not add them if they would just die. fucking temperature is 100% random, sometimes snow starts at sea level and the top of the mountains are -50

Well, I can't tell if I got tired after 3 hours of fucking making map after map after map.
But I am not that happy with this. It's not actually flaot, since it's not floating islands, it's just discs sticking to high mountains and lots of pillars.
Might still be fun to try and make a road network in this shit
The fact that it's a glacial world is just how this fucking map generator works, it's 100% random and I fucking hate it. sometimes it's desert map, sometimes it's glacial, sometimes it's shrubbery. Hardly any times it's a well fucking balanced world like it should always be

The map usually shows it, only that in low density locations it can get ridiculously faint blue, that you normally wouldn't notice. It helps to use the Yield overlay on normal maps, since high yield areas will usually spawn the plant on their own.
