ToonTown Corporate Clash is a brand new ToonTown private server that just opened to the public 4 days ago. It has done major reworks around the entire game, including new tracks and areas. Progression has changed completely. You won't have to wait until you are 60 laff before you get to do something other than buildings. There's new bosses and cog related content that you'll bump into before making it out of TTC(Derrick Man).

It has a capacity for 40 members and there's instant club chat anywhere. We're currently sitting at 16 members. There are other anons playing, but they still haven't joined the club that is fairly recent.

It's not that important, but we've been trying to stay in Whistle Woods. Probably not worth the risk of crashing teleporting there, with the club we can now teleport to each other no matter the district anyway.

Depends on when you want to play. Around 3AM~9AM US time you can play for hours without crashing. During the day it's really hard to go more than half an hour without having the game close on you(more if you know the mechanics of crashing).
I'm not sure how long this situation will last, their servers have improved a lot and we've been seeing daily patches that have been improving the situation. They got new servers a few hours ago, so no one knows how playable it'll be like today. As in the time of making this thread, I still haven't tested their new servers.
On an additional note, they've been also been getting DDoSed from the very first day by a retarded underaged kid whose goal in life is to ruin the project.

I'd say that Corporate Clash has more parallels to modern WoW than original Toontown did, most notably the very linear questing structure. But unlike WoW, it forces you to socialize for most content, and said content gives better rewards.
The popularity probably comes from a combination of nostalgia and autism. A lot of the community ranges in age from teens to well into the adult years. Although it's probably a nonfactor, it has an added benefit of not being really farmable for real cash, which keeps most, if not all bots/chinks away.

In vanilla you would either pick not to have trap or drop. I'm thinking about going throwless and zapless.
If I could go back, I would have gotten throw instead of squirt(considering I'm not planning on using zap). I thought throw would just get overshadowed so hard there wouldn't be much people later to combo damage with you, so it would end up being pretty useless. Turns out every building or so there are 2 guys with throw.

Going trapless is alright. If you did get trap, you'd basically be required to prestige it, since it's underwhelming without. Pretty much everyone's running zap because it's new and interesting, but it doesn't get any bonuses when multiple zaps are used at once, so you may be able to get away with not using it.
Overall, the meta's currently a huge question mark, so go with whatever you're comfortable using, I guess.
Also, for what it's worth, Throw got buffed shortly after servers went live, so it's no longer far and away the worst gag track. They seem to be well-balanced now, on paper.

Getting carried is strongly advised. You have to get an item from any cog in the playground, which I lucked out on due to a Short Change invasion, then defeat a level 8+ bossbot, then level 3 level 7+ cogs, then attempt a 4+ story building, although you don't have to complete it. Not sure if that's intentional or not. The issue with the cog tasks is that cogs love to join, so even on the easiest street, there's a good chance of getting a level 6+ cog joining a fight, even if you're alone.
Ended up completing the level 8 bossbot task thanks to cheesing it at the beginning of the street with a group, which involved constantly running from battle, getting laff back, and re-engaging. Also, multiple toons went sad in the process.
