Well if you just want to /scurv/ there's a usb dongle called the SX you can get that doesn't require a softmod nor a hardmod to scurv. But it costs 40 bucks. But be warned that it used to have drm on it. (The chink kind that bricks if it detects you trying to fuck with it.

I'd go for the upgrade for a 1050TI since you will hit 60FPS for most games on a decent setting and may struggle a bit with just a normal 1050 for a little extra. Or you can get the 1060 3GB which will be a nice upgrade at about 90% extra performance for 100 to 150$ more. I also recommend EVGA instead since they have REALLY good customer support compared to most companies.

This is getting a /tech/y, and it might be too much for /v/, but I recommend uMatrix (as a replacement for any ad blocker or working alongside uBlock Origin if you know what you're doing) for the real paranoids out there. It's a firewall style blocker at the browser level. It assumes no sites are trusted by default. Browsing will be a pain in the ass for the first couple of days when you start using it, but once it's been configured correctly and adjusted to the sites you usually browse, it'll be a comfy safe experience.
