About two years ago, I played the entire series, the voice acting, story and music were all top notch, the graphics, I am sure were good for their time, at least it has good art direction, but the gameplay was never all that good. I'd say Soul Reaver 2 had the best combat and puzzles, overall, but just like with Soul Reaver 1, unless you were forced into combat, you were better off running away. Blood Omen 2, had a nice combat system, but the health upgrade system was a bit retarded, in the sense that you had to drank the blood of all the enemies you faced, even if you were at maximum HP, just to upgrade the health bar. With Defiance, I feel the abilities felt too samey, and there wasn't all that much variety, even if you played as both Kain and Raziel.

So, if you are interested in, is the fighting and puzzles(Soul Reaver 1&2) then yes, it's a mediocre series.

Whoever got Star Wars and was going to make Star Wars 7 with the original cast included was handed a mandate to create an epic sequel to the original trilogy and CONTINUE the story of the original characters, then maybe add in the new characters as the story went along and develop a continuation of the series from there.

They launched a reboot when people wanted a SEQUEL they wanted to see the continuation of their favorite guys not watching them become background marginalized characters who are only there to fill the role of other characters form the first movies (Luke Skywalker is now a loser Yoda fill in) and watch as the universe and story go nowhere but get recycled when people waited 40 YEARS to get a sequel, new development, new story.
