That's real nice and all, but did they ever actually finish the game? Last time I played it it was still even buggier than your average Bethesda trashfire - with multiple main-questline breaking bugs. I uninstalled after getting hit with one and haven't bothered to reinstall it.

If these assholes are going to release an Early Access title, I wish they'd indicate that it was such, rather than letting you assume it's a commercial grade product.

I played the game with the day one patch and while it ran like ass (granted I have a potato too), I was able to complete it just fine, I only had 2 bugs that prevented me from progressing but a reload fixed them, those being stuck in a doorway and defeating one of the bosses not triggering a cutscene.

Other than Piranha Bytes. Piranha Bytes can make an open world game in 2 years with 20-30 people and a low budget and it will be relatively unbuggy.

Granted, Piranha Bytes have been in business for over 15 years and are very experienced.

I wish more games did this, like low INT runs in Fallout. RPGs never quite captured the character flaw aspects which makes roleplaying more fun in board games, in RPGs you always become stronger no matter what.

I read about this RPG called Disco Elysium, where if you have like 10 STR your character is incredibly eager to prove himself and beat shit up, and at 1 STR you develop an inferiority complex. You can go for a middle-of-the-road character with no strengths or flaws, but that's boring.

It's made by Estonian hipsters. The game will be incredibly write- and artfaggy, probably a bit like Tides of Numanuma which may make for a very boring game. Everything I have seen of the devs on a certain role playing game forum points to this, at least in my opinion.

You don't really have to cheese it at all unless you are a powergamer and that's the way you want to play. If you try to immerse yourself in the game and pick levels and quests fitting for you and gradually increase your skill, wealth and equipment you won't have to do that. That review is entertaining but uninformative and inaccurate.

The combat might not be 'smooth' but it's not something I'd consider bad either. I made a battlemage Berserker and I primarily used melee with some chip damage done by magic, and I only intentionally cheesed one fight with the flame thrower which I later sold.

As I said, if you don't powergame and try to roleplay in your role playing game, you won't have issues with that.

Count on the muh realism crowd to be so fucking far up their own asses that they make a compass without marking any of the directions. That's not realism; in fact, it's fucking unrealistic. They're just being pretentious faggots.

Oh and the whole "showing the player's health and stamina is unrealistic is even dumber. How do you know that you're tired in real life? Do you stop and look at how heavy you're breathing? No, you don't, because you fucking feel it. If you're hurt you feel pain. When playing a game you don't actually feel these things, and that's why health meters exist. They tell you what your character should realistically know. Removing them robs your character of senses they should have. It's like removing sound because hurr durr YOU aren't the one hearing it player, it's your character! It's unrealistic for you to hear it!

Every time pretentious assholes try to make things realistic, they fuck it up by trying too hard. The result is that everything ends up even less realistic. Actually, if they're going to be this far up their asses about it, why not make it so that sleeping is the player spending hours looking at a black screen with no way of interacting at all? Why not remove the ability to save the game entirely? It's not realistic to load a previous point in life or take a break from your life.

This game was made in Czech Republic. In ex commie region game devs (programmers, artists, etc.) can be paid a tiny fraction of what they'd require in the West.

This region lies in the ideal middle. A fuckton of game testing is outsourced to Poland for example because they're cheap enough while you can't really outsource that kind of work to pajeets or chinks.

How many common folks owned a fucking compass and map in the medievil times. It's just an option to play beyond the whole idea of the game-interface to make it slightly more realistic as in, you need to keep track of landmarks and the sun way more than what the game-interface tells you to.

It's just an extra game-feature for a hardcore mode. Not like it's the game. I would've hoped they put in so that you had to keep track of the time aswell by looking at the shadows or just about the daylight.

the save system is only an issue at the start of the game, once you max out alchemy you can chug the fuck out of SS at any time as long as you're not overly save scumming it works. The only problem with the system is that it forces you to get gud with Alchemy otherwise you're in for a very frustraiting time, if the actual item were cheaper to buy it wouldn't matter as much.
