New releasing in october in japan and next spring in the west as Disaster Report 4: summer memories+
If you are a youngfag who doesnt know the series, and i wouldnt blame you at this point, it was the 4th entry in a big name in the 'disaster survival' offshoot of the survival horror genre. Instead of surviving monsters this sub genre has you basically being the MC of a disaster movie. A volcano going off, an earthquake demolishing a city, a flood hitting a coastal town and so on. They are largely set piece puzzle games with some moral choices thrown in for a survival/crisis vibe. Very few came out in the west but its uniqueness gave it a niche appeal.
DR4 was meant to release on the PS3 in 2011 but then the Tohoku earthquake disaster occured and it was so similar to the setting and subject matter it was put back. Then the Tsunami hit the fukushima reactor killing off lots of IP's like the planned Coppelion game and DR4 was considered vapourware as the subject matter was too touchy in what was being known as "japans decade of geo crisis".
But now its finally coming out and unlike I am Alive its not being turned into a cutdown meme game but expanded on as a + redo like the atelier games.
Its a niche sub genre /v/ doesn't often talk about -mostly because this gen theres been no fucking reason to till now- but finally we are getting a release.
Now if only "stranded in the city in shadow" would get one too.

Finally, I was getting a bit worried after no newer announcements were made.
The IP is now completely in Granzella's hands, so if this goes well maybe there will be a chance for at least a digital re-release + translation of 3? Here's hoping.

We can blame bandai namco to license the monsters to different American companies that act super Jewish when they hear a monster is going to in another game with another monster. Then it's a Jew on, where the Jews fight to the death so they can get the other Jews wealth.

You never know, the Japanese take allot of risks when it comes to just sell the game in their own country.
So there will probably be such a monster game with a little more in-depth of the story and characters, probably more choices also.

The devs already said they want to buy back all the unsold Irem IPs when they first announced this revival. They just went with Disaster Report first since it's the most popular of the IPs in japan, if this does well Steambot Chronicles will be the next purchase for sure.
