During the Of Their Own Accord mission in Modern Warfare 2, there was supposed to be this radio chatter of the evac site at the Washington Monument being overrun by the Russians. It never made it into the game though, likely because its chilling tone would have upset players. It's a shame because it would have made the mission feel more dramatic.

on that note, romaSaGa1 had a bunch of stuff that was left unfinished. i liked how the remake of it adapted a lot of that stuff into new content for it.

You want some good-ass cut content? Welcome to Shogo: MAD.
>As far back as your memory reaches, Kura, Toshiro, Kathryn, and Baku are there. You were four years old when your parents died, but you have no recollection of them. It was your friends and your brother who defined you, shaped you into what you have become. Some memories stand out more clearly than others, such as the time Toshiro was playing around in the condemned barracks next to the school building and got himself into a predicament.
This is level transition text for an unused flashback level where Sanjuro, your main character, has to go through several trials that would affect how other character perceive him.
But wait, there's more! Attached are some unused pieces of dialogue and even some AI features that gone on unnoticed by just about everybody. How it originally worked is that based on NPC HP and what seems stats programmed into the NPCs in the maps their "states," in other words behavior, would be changed accordingly. A problem with this however is that logically other NPCs despite not being damaged should have their behavior altered just by being in the line of fire. A quick and dirty solution would be to make it so that if an enemy has the ability to see another enemy getting damaged in its current position then it would go through the same state recomputation, the actual process of changing behaviors. What was the original purpose of the AI? According to an preview conducted while the game is still named "Riot" (preview here: https://web.archive.org/web/19980119180823/http://www.avault.com/previews/riot1.asp) it is to make the enemies function less like an interactive bullseye like other FPS games and make them seem like they are "motivated by survival." The preview mentions multiple ways to complete objectives with help by the level design. Sound familiar?
Why all the changes? Craig Hubbard, the design lead and would later go on to work on No One Lives Forever and FEAR speaks.
>Ambition undermined Shogo. The intended scope of the project was so grand, particularly for such a tiny team, that we were overwhelmed just trying to get everything into the game. As a result, we didn't have time to polish any of it. The final product is barely more than a prototype of the game we were trying to make, even after we cut characters, settings, story elements, and whatever else we could jettison without breaking the game. It was simply too late to shore up all the deficiencies by the time we realized how many there were. I'm certainly proud of Shogo as an accomplishment, but as a game it is a grim reminder of the perils of wild optimism and unchecked ambition… the only thing that saved Shogo from complete disaster was the realization, some six months before we were supposed to ship, that there was no way to make the game great in that amount of time. So, we concentrated on making it fun.
If you are also interested in cut content in Shogo, check out the Shogo SDK and source code. While they are locked behind 16-bit installers, at least originally, it'll give you the tools to let you crack open the game archive files and check out some interesting code. Not only that, you can modify the source code and create your own mod, but only if you have Visual C++ 6, which thankfully still works with Windows 10 if you have the patience.

Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos
Originally it was planned that each race has 6 heroes available but limited to 3 per map (in hindsight now it makes sense why its limited to 3 after game launched), humans would have heroes like Crusader (Hero version of Knight unit with Garithos model), Human Ranger (basicly male version of Sylvanas model) and more, undead would have Necromancer as hero (Kelthuzad necro model), Anti-paladin (current Death Knight model), Abomination (he had explode ability which dealt huge damage) and Death Knights (they were based on Death/Frost Revenant model and had different spells). Orcs would have heroes like Warlord, Shadow Hunter (in Reign of Chaos it had voodoo mask compared to TFT model), Tauren Chieftain was called Minotaur Lord and looked more evil (normal Tauren were called Minotaur and had ball and chain weapon instead of huge totem on their backs), elves had Tyrande flying on huge owl (this was proven to be too broken so she was given a tiger/panther mount instead), real Warden hero (ranged agility hero and its model is still in game files and Maev skills actually belong to that other hero, Maev hero was actually called something sentinel assassin or similar and had more evasion/debuff skills).
Campaign cut content:
Human: Arthas and Uther deal more with orcs in first few missions (The Fel Orc warchief is meant to the ultimate boss of orc part in human campaign) and Scourge/undead only enter play after orcs are beaten, basicly Plague of Lordaeron is Plan B that is meant to decimate weakened Lordaeron after battle with orcs, during the plague Uther loses his calm and makes questionable decisions that weaken Arthas's resolve to paladin order which causes him to rebel and chase undead to Northrend.
Undead: First two missions are the same but then Arthas is recalled to Northend to help in War of the Spider, you unlock the Death Knight (Revenant) hero here and there are slight hints that Dreadlords are not allies/servants of Scourge but jailers of Lich King. After War of Spider it continues normally with chase to Quel'thalas and other, Uther dies at start of Siege of Dalaran, Jaina dies near the end of that mission and she is turned into a Banshee (devs removed this and instead made Arthas turn Sylvanas into a banshee because they felt Arthas-Jaina story is too similar to Starcraft story of Kerrigan).
Orc: Thrall didnt exist (he was created for Warcraft Adventures game and when that game was stopped from being released because it was pure garbage they moved his character to WC3 and remade entire Orc campaign) and instead it dealt with Grom, Killrog and Kargath breaking out orcish clans from human lands in Southern Lordaeron, Khaz Modan and Stormwind Kingdom towards west to escape both humans and demons. Halfway through campaign Minotaur became allies because of shared enemy such as elves, centaurs and trox (trox was name for murlocs in alpha/beta and trox/murlocs were much more sentient and were a bigger threat than in current cannon). Campaign ends with orcs pillaging elven lands in order to escape demons pursuing them and conquering an elven version of Helms Deep where they could barricade themselves and wait till elves and demons slaughter each other then move out and zug zug the weakened armies that are left.
Night Elf: Story is mostly the same except for few slight changes between other races and hero interactions, orcs are barely tolerated and NOT ALLIED during Battle for Mount Hyjal (meaning you could attack and wipe out them aswell but it is advised not to since their base is close to Burning Legion base and they will slow down Burning Legion forces for some time), humans are led by other heroes since Jaina died in Dalaran and last mission isnt Battle for Mount Hyjal where Archimonde is climbing towards the World Tree but the mission afterwards where Archimonde is inside the World Tree tapping its essence, your goal on that mission is to enter the World Tree and cut off connection to Archimonde limbs (arms, legs and head) before he completely drains it (he will summon shitload of demons each time you try to cut off the connection), the cinematic we see today is AFTER Archimonde has been cut off and forced out and tries to re-enter the tree (thats why he is awkardly trying to grab it), this mission was removed because devs thought it felt a bit weaker and less intense compared to the Mount Hyjal timed mission.
Demons and Naga were planned to be added as playable races for expansion but never made it due to WoW releasing and most of attention of devs and other staff being shifted into that project.

IIRC, the earliest incarnation of Warcraft 3 actually was supposed to be an ARPG like Diablo, hence the big focus on heroes and the extremely large variety of models and subtypes for "creep" minions.
I also remember the main reason why the model for the Revenant is so detailed is because that was how the Deathknight originally was supposed to look like. It was only later that the revenants first became neutral ghosts independent from the Scourge, and WoW eventually retconned them as being the foot troops of the elemental lords.

aye the most earliest version of WC3 was an ARPG similar to Diablo, Revenant model guys were supposed to be Death Knight heroes while Arthas type models were Anti-Paladins, sadly Revenant lore has been retconned way too much in WoW.

Payday 2 crashed very often. Multi-day heists were just a bad idea all around because of how unstable the game was.
On that note, some of the multi-day heists are in the game, just as separate individual heists. So it's not like you're really losing out on anything. On some cases, like Hoxton's Breakout (Loud only) and Hoxton's Revenge (Loud or Stealth) being separate, I'd even consider it an improvement.

imo Undead campaign would be better if they went with original where he kills Jaina and takes part in War of the Spider, orcs in original plot are not allied to humans or elves during the elven campaign, they are barely tolerated and elves view them simply as meat shield against the legion (in Mount Hyjal mission they are not even allied to elves and you can destroy them if you want but without orcish base there Burning Legion would move on faster towards the World Tree), my opinion is they should have went with Kargath, Kilrog and Kargath instead of MUH DESTINY Thrall who just blindly follows some guy in Kalimdor.

I just wish the Night Elves would have had an ancient that actually served as a combat unit rather than as a semi-mobile building. It's disappointing to have all those large, lumbering (hah!) giants, only to see that they are completely useless in combat and their uproot ability is so damn situational that you rarely ever use it (outside of relocating some ancient protectors, maybe).
They could have made one of them the equivalent to the TFT Rock giant or whatever it was called.

I am pretty much concerned with them adding too many units at once and half of them being useless and never useful in-game. Even now WC3 with 4 heroes + neutral ones still falls for blademaster/archmage/demon hunter/death knight being the best heroes for their races.
Otherwise I would love to see as many choices per race as possible, not only in terms of heroes but also units and extra buildings. Just like in any other RTS game.

In original draft elves had Treants as workers (they were called Ents) instead of wisps while big tanky units such as Ancient Protector were called Treants, sound files for workers still mentions them instead of wisps when you try to build in location that is not possible, it says "Ents cannot build there", even in editor when you look at voice files the current Treants are named under "Ents" while Ancient Protectors are named Treants, there were special buildings such as Bear Den or Den of Shadows where i can only assume is where you trained druids of the claw in bear form and assassin units among others.

blademaster/archmage/demon hunter/death knight is simply the meta for noobs who dont know or dont want to try out other strategies, in older days you would see all kinds of strategies but as players were leaving only the noob friendly meta remained where everyone plays the same on melee maps. I would like to see how the game would have played with Necromancer and Abominations as heroes and Necromancer units with pic related skillset which is Raise Skeleton Warrior, Raise Skeleton Archer and Corpse Explosion. (Corpse Explosion can be remade in editor with no problems but balancing it might be an issue)

>Ticklebritch (Drain Endurance 5pts, Drain Personality 15pts) - While this is not used in the base game, the official DLC Mehrunes' Razor adds one rather obscure way to catch it - by picking up a certain Hoe in Sundercliff Mines. The name of the disease and the fact that you catch it from a "hoe" (not to mention the name of the hoe's associated script: DL9DirtyHoeObjectSCRIPT) is probably a developers' joke implying that it is a sexually-transmitted disease. >Interested in cut content for COD
>Nothing past BO2
>There is actually a good amount of interesting content for ghosts, advanced warfare and black ops 3, ghosts in particular, that I can remember from early previews and interviews, that never made it into the game
>Information is scattered across youtube and the official cod wiki, but nobody bothered to actually put it all together
Oh well, at least the new silver and gold beta articles are pretty interesting

To put on an esoteric tinfoil hat, I feel like their screeching of antisemitism serves a greater purpose. Using the pretext that a Swastika is evil, they can therefore ban goy from using an 4-sided images. Thus crosses and squares and be controlled via social language and stigma. Their Star of David can be expanded to form the familiar cube shape / black cube that they associate with Saturn, so it could be a matter of not letting bad goy learn their secrets.

Shadow of the Colossus.
The unused locales from the original, and especially the unused colossi. 8 of them in all. I know the data has all but certainly long since been deleted, and many of the unused colossi were generally too similar to those that did make the final cut. But I'm still salty over the PS4 "remake" having very little new content at all.

The ps4 remake is a remake, don't put it in quotes retard. A remake which changes the pacing would be a bad remake. The cut colossi weren't cut because they were unfinished but because they were bad.

That's not the case. With a lot of the colossi, the devs either thought they would be too awkward to fight, or they would have to include special mechanics specifically for those cut colossi.
And the "remake" was hardly a remake at all. Pretty grafix aside, there were only some special little add-on features differentiating it from the original game.

Nigger, I would take a SotC Director's Cut over the remake and TLG all day any day.

>"Mmm, that's a nostalgic song playing. Those were good times. Meanwhile, who the hell are these people with this project? I'm so glad it's over. You think it's nothing but good memories? Hell no! Let's use this space to give out some thanks.
>First off, Kaoru Ogura, who ran off with some guy in the middle of the project. Yes, you, you bastard. Don't show up at the office without showering after having sex 6 times the previous night. Next, Tatsuya Oohashi. Yes, you, you bastard. Don't give me your flippant shit — coming in late on the day we ship the ROM like nothing's amiss. You can give me all the porn you want; I'm not forgetting that one. All that fucking weight you put on. No wonder you paid out 18,000 yen and still got nothing but a kiss out of it. Kenji Takano, Namco debugger. You are a part-timer; don't dick around with the project planner. And finally, Kiyoharu Gotou, the biggest thorn to my side in this project. Yes, you, you bastard. Once I get a time machine, I’m sending you back to the Edo period. Go do your riddles over there.
>Ahh, that's a load off… wait, no it's not. Kiyoharu Gotou — yes, you, you bastard. Aaaagh, just disappear already.
>Come to think of it, some people were helpful to me, too. Mr. Okada, who took all the good stuff. I know all about your abnormal tendencies. Yamagishi, who swore off soaplands until the project was over. Go ahead, knock yourself out now. Iwata, who joined in midway and gave it all he had. Sorry I yelled at you. Keep hanging in there. Fujimura, Udopyu, you probably had it the worst of all. Thanks. I mean it. Gotou's the one to hate here. Also, Takayama, Kudou, Suzuki, Makki, Kaneko, Aihara, Sato (the angel of my heart), Iga. Thanks, everyone.
Yoko-G, good work. This game is dedicated to your wife's birthday."

Calling it a remake is giving it too much credit. It's more of a remaster, and not even a good one; they fucked up some things just as much as they improved others.
They could have expanded mechanic and content without altering the core of its design; more Colossus, modes and rewarding exploration, for starters, maybe some variations to the ending depending on some specific actions, somewhat like SH2.
What a fucking waste.
