Personally, even as someone who likes Trump, I don't find Cyberpunk's tweet particularly bad from the "they insulted Trump" angle. I think it rather humorously alludes to the fact that the original complainant did tweet similarly to how Trump does. But, first and foremost, it was somewhat dismissive and possibly even a little insulting. You don't do that in marketing or community outreach.
You also generally try not to make political statements in industries that are not explicitly political, as they're almost guaranteed to piss off 50% of your possible consumer base, and that's just always a bad idea.

The initial concept of cyberpunk 2077 was to transfer all gameplay viable skills from cyberpunk 2020, and that's 20 social skills alone and around 70 total. It was kinda a thing they did with Mike Pondsmith. They wanted to bring "true rpg experience" no matter what.

The trailer explains the whole set-up for Night City, plus thirty different outlets have explained every facet of the one hour of gameplay they showed at E3. If CDPR shill are allowed to like the game based off of that, I think we're entitled to dislike it. Having the creator of Cyberpunk V3.0 is also a major red flag. Just look it up, I can't do it justice.
Basically, the whole "mega corporations rule the world, you live out your fantasy by exploiting the system from the outside" plot is dead. After the 80s, we started getting amazing postcyberpunk novels like Diamond Age and eventually games like 25th Ward and Deus Ex. People who grew up on 80s cyberpunk novels realized that society doesn't change much, and started writing interesting stories about characters who were mostly ordinary members in society, finding their place within it. The punk crap died out fast, and stories now more closely resemble Japanese sci-fi, which is clearly more relevant and relatable in the 21st century. Nobody wants a dumb crime n' grime GTA reskin when GTAV is still around.

I dunno, maybe? Normally I'd say this kind of game is appealing if you just want to live out a fantasy life in a fictional setting you like, like Night City. But even then, it's a downgrade from the RPG because they've cut out interesting classes like media person, and instead just made it "Gadget guy" "Gun guy" and "Hackerman." You can't play whatever role you want, you have one role, and that is Merc Johnson–you have to do heists to level up street cred to unlock heists to level up street cred. You can "play it your way" like every other game made in the last decade, but there's still only one objective, so who cares? Basically this game is an open world Human Revolution, and Human Revolution had a set plot and set role for you to play, but it was a psotcyberpunk narrative, and it was at least an interesting plot. The whole point of postcyberpunk is that the protagonist is at least at one point a social everyman. This game just makes you an outsider and gives you the goal of getting rich quick. Hence the GTA comparisons everyone from me to William Gibson makes about this game. It's fucking nothing, m8.
