The demo has a three hour time-limit but I'm not sure if it's three hours total or three hours per-playthrough (i.e. you can restart and reset the clock as many times as you want).

I'm holding off for now since I just got back in to XB2 and 8T isn't out for another month and I don't want the whole "now how the fuck do I play this game and where was I" situation happening again.

I did play the other two demos (which I think have since been removed from the eShop) and they were pretty good. A little hard to navigate in places because of the low camera angle, but apparently the devs have addressed that and redone the ground textures so you know what's an actual path and shit.

At least Bravely Default has a pleasant flow to it somehow

Though I will admit it sounds less nauseating the more I hear it; I have a feeling this will be overly praised though since it will be one of the first few high-profile RPGs for the system

I played it for a bit. It's boring as fuck, and has similar gimmicky combat to bravely default. Just a mechanical, streamlined imitation of what a JRPG used to be. In one word, I'd describe it as soulless.

Maybe it just starts out miserably slow and dry and magically turns into Chrono Trigger later on, but I'm not going to slog through more of this until other anons say I'm missing out.

But what will Traveler mean? After Bravely Default Flying Faiy became Bravey Defauly Lying Airy and Bravely Second End Layer became Bravely Second Send Player i'm expecting another meta twist with the name. The fact that its Traveler and not Travellers specifically is suspect.

The game is basically a Live a Live Rip off with on-field gimmicks for every character.

I'll play it because I like jrpgs, and the story probably has some crazy twist at the end knowing the devs, but just like with bravely default the game will probably be, after beating it, feeling shallow or like you didn't miss out much.

Bravely Default combat was a cute novelty but there was no challenge and it was essentially easy and at the end it gets boring

Only the desire to unlock more skills/talents/jobs becomes the drive along with the story

Never been into jrpgs and turned based combat, but I've found this game pretty fun so far

>game is kind of easy, powering through the cave and get to the boss

>the sheer size of the boss and his allies

>the damage being thrown my way as I need to juggle between using heal items, AoE breaking the two small try and defending against the boss

This boss has sold me on the game, i'm sure there'll be lots more fun moments like this provided I don't level up too much.

Nice to see games like these still get made. Not a social person, online games involve the most overrated lifeforms in the universe. And everything has to be social now.

I watched the gameplay demo video, since I don't have a Switch. If I had one, I'd ponder getting this at a sale/used price, at the very least. I'm a giant sucker for games like this.

It's fucking great, but I only played the first demo, gonna get it day one, I hope the game stays great throughout, 1 of 2 good JRPGs on the horizon, SMTV is miles off though.
