Which 3D game would you say had the best combat out of all the ones you've played? I liked God Hand's the best because it felt more fast-paced, and satisfying in general, than most other cuhrayzee games.

I think a better term would be "performance fighter". It both eludes to the spectacle aspect, and the test of skill aspect, be it the style meter of DMC or the trophies in bayonetta.

I'd love GH and probably place it at the top if it wasn't for other games such as DMC3/4, MGR, Bayo etc. that are much more fun to play. The movement and camera suck shit in GH. I'd love for a reboot that keeps the combos, roulette stuff but makes the gameplay smoother.

God Hand's oddities are why it's so fun. If you were to change it's controls, you would water down it's flavor. MGR for example, is a far weaker game that barely challenges you if you know the basics of ripper mode and spine-stealing. The only thing I'd want is a balance patch to fix up some of the exploits in the game, like infinitely slamming enemies into walls. It'd be basically perfect then. Maybe a level select, score rush style.

GH needed a better way of targeting and selecting enemies. if the best way to target a specific enemy in a crowd is to move away, turn back and roulette cancel until you lock onto the guy you were intending to, there's something wrong because the gameplay flow is being broken up by dumb shit. give the player to cycle through targets or the ability to not target anything, and a lot of the movement problems disappear as well. considering all the shit the game throws at you and the completely static camera (most enemy moves have to be read, predicted and countered, keeping the camera fixed helps the player learn this mechanic without the use of bleeps, flashes or any other obtrusive shit), 90% of the control problems in GH come from the game trying to figure out which enemy you are trying to hit and fucking it up.
