the real reason it sold so well is because Switch has no games, same reason Persona 5 and Nier 2 sold so well last year. Fire Emblem Awakening did well back in 2013 for the same reason.

I haven't played much since I beat the game and did the post game bosses and some grinding maxing out my blades. I stopped playing before the new game+ was added and I just got my last two summonable blades Newt and T-elos in 5 legendary cores. I got T-elos on the 2nd and Newt on my 5th. Before I had stopped playing I used about 300 legendary and 500+ rares trying to get Newt as my last summonable rare blade.

They jacked up the rates and this game is much better for it. I haven't been as active in these threads but I haven't seen this mentioned so I thought I would. With the QOL bug fixes this game is now a 9.9/10 for me. They also fixed the blade weapon augment bonus bug which made stats not able to reach the 999 cap that I was complaining about. Turns out it wasn't on purpose or they reverted the change, either way I'm happy.

Also still not sure if I should carry on or wait until the DLC is all out then play it from scratch. Put a Blade or two on Rex and am now learning I shouldn't.

On the other hand I got lucky/unlucky with pulls (Got Boreas early on, but also had to drag Ice bunny around whose affinity can't go above 2 until I do more shit in this ice kingdom I assume).

I was also over-leveled for the robot-spider bot, but really struggled with some uniques and a large group of lizardmen in that desert building.

Rare blades on Rex aren't even a problem and haven't been since 2 weeks after launch when we learned you can farm the transfer items. You also get a few from the DLC and more on NG+.

You can farm them if you happen to get a bunch of 4-star Blades or if you're at endgame. Most people worrying about swapping Blades only do so midgame when they've been cracking rares on Rex all day, so that isn't an option for them. As long as people only need to transfer a few Blades they don't even need to farm, just get the easily available ones.

4 star blades are easily attainable and swapping blades from Rex to others is strictly a late game problem and you can start farming legendary cores at mid game giving easy access to the rank 4 common blades. People make this out to be a much bigger problem than it is. I'd imagine most would stop using cores on Rex after 4 or 5 rares max, and given that there is a fairly large amount of story rare blades you can choose who gets who it is a non issue entirely.

Well you'll probably be doing it anyway since you need a shit ton of ether to upgrade the tank just to equip all the shit. Fast Switch Blade V can only be gotten from Stage 5 though you can get it from challenge mode for ten noponites. Master Mods and Light Element can be gotten from NG+ if you can't luck shit them on stage 5. You'll want Master Tank (Poppi), Master Evasion (Poppi QT), and Master Muscle or Strike (Poppi QTpi).

It gets better, story and gameplay wise. The battles can get pretty deep to the point where you can easily take down higher level monsters for mad XP, but you have to build your party right, equip the right items, upgrade the weapons with the right cores, feed your party members the right meals (Arts recharge on all of them with high level items so you can basically chain driver arts non-stop and then chain in to blade combos, until you've got half a dozen orbs to break in one mad super combo that will drop ridiculous amounts of loot).

A quest he is utterly failing to invest me in. Yea there is a lot of living room up there and Titans are dying, but no one seems to give one solitary fuck about it right now. In NG+ you can spend bonus exp on ether crystals so no more tiger tiger grinding. I already maxxed out all of my poppis tanks I just need to get specific items. I believe it's 200k exp for 20k crystals and I have just under 1 million spare exp for each character. The only "hard part" is re-finding all the poppi manuals so I can make the parts with crystals.

There's probably at least 10 blades I have on the "wrong" people (assuming you never mix-and-match roles outside of characters you control), but as long as the "best" are on the right people I'm happy.

Most of the quests and the free items are only really useful if you do them as you go through the main quest the first time. The main part of the season pass isn't out yet which is the Prequel Story. Isn't drivers and blades using different weapons kind of lore-rape?
