Where the fuck is it? There was a teaser trailer, a website went up with a few screenshots, but still no gameplay has been shown and still no release date. On Twitter Croteam said they would showcase the game, yet it was absent from both the Devolver Digital and PC Gaming shows at E3.

Talos Principle was released three and a half years ago, and I really doubt they spent 100% of the time, between its release and BFE's release, on it. Besides that, they've released some dlc for BFE and TP, made a simple VR game, and hired a few people to work on extra projects regarding the SS series and its engines. So, they've probably had at least three years of dev time to devote to SS4. Unless they've been doing some groundbreaking, amazing shit that will blow the whole industry away, how is SS4's development still at such an early state that they aren't comfortable showing it off, publicly?

Iw ould imagine that at least 70% of that map area is forests or edge zones where the player won't go. And that the "up to 100,000" claim, might mean 2,000 in a single battle is technically feasible (probably less, though, unless you have infinite ammo or something).

the 128x128 km level is just a single level mind you. they're just showing off what might be when the game is finally finished. (this means you can expect vehicles. flying, or fast travel, no fuckign way they're gonna make you walk that shit)

>Veličina mape zahtijevala je i drugačiji pristup kretanju, pa glavni junak Sam sada na raspolaganju ima motor kojim prevaljuje velike udaljenosti kako bi što brže stigao do točaka koje su bitne kako bio obavio svoju misiju. No osim kao sredstvo transporta, upotrebljen je i kao značajna inovacija u igrivosti - frenetične borbe po kojima je serijal poznat sada se tako, osim kao klasična pucačina, mogu odvijati i dok glavni junak vozi motor.

Yup, exactly as thought. Sam now has a bike to go inbetween encounters, and you can also shoot shit while on your bike. this means they're probably going for a more open world approach, going from skirmish to skirmish.

>Vrdelja ističe kako će, jednom kada igra stigne na tržište, podržavati epske bitke s čak 100.000 likova što u klasičnom first person shooteru do sada još nije viđeno, a zapravo niti u jednoj drugoj igri ove veličine i grafičke ispoliranosti.

they just wanna make an engine that is capable of holding that number at a steady framerate, not literal fights with 100,000 mooks in it.

There's a link to reddit on the Steam forums that sums up the impressions of a Japanese journalist playing the demo. I'd link to reddit but since 8chan would probably get autistic about that I'm not going to. Basically:

>The demo level is the meadow from the teaser trailer, complete with forests and lakes

>It's 128km squared and Sam uses the bike to travel

>Sam can freely aim and shoot at enemies using the gun on his right hand while his left hand is on the wheel

>The demo level features Gnaars, Werebulls, and Kamikazes

>The new Tortured Prisoner enemy is also in the demo level, but does not have an official name yet (Sam calls it a Seafood Bastard). It appears to be cannon fodder melee-only enemy ala zombies

>Along the way, a band of survivors contacted Sam from a tower (this is a side mission). They want Sam to kill enemies attacking the tower.

>They drop a Sniper Rifle for Sam from the tower, but the survivors are never shown on-screen (apparently because the models are still under development)

>Sam reaches a small village afterward and drives a Combine instead

>The Combine kills anything it drives into, but it appears that enemies will target Sam in the driver's seat

>The demo level ends when Sam drives over a hill and a huge mass of Biomechanoids march from behind the hill

>A developer on-site says that Sam will have access to nuclear weapons

>The developer also says there are literally 100 000 enemies on-screen, but it appears the journalist has trouble understanding whether Croteam meant it literally or figuratively

The gist I've gotten from the interviews is that there will be a few maps that are that size and scope, while the rest of the maps will probably be more similar to past Sams. The demo level for 4 would be the equivalent of stitching several of the more open Sam maps together into one big one.

Video Only: https://my.mixtape.moe/afbjrk.mp4

I am preparing a video with the press and the teaser trailer we've already seen removed. Gameplay only. Dunno what quality will be like as the largest 1080p video was highly compressed to begin with.

Those orange guys at 30 seconds in look like they use the exact same animations as the monk looking enemies in 2.

What the fuck are the small biomechanoid designs now?

They altered certain creatures to be more monstrous but alot of this stuff like guns, and ammo drops are just from SS3 but I know why and It will probably be changed eventually

I'm just freaked out about this whole pseudo-open world map they've been showing so far.

It looks like they took a head from one of the Mass Effect aliens and ripped off its jaw.

>ammo drops are just from SS3

The ammo pickups are delivered in the same way as well. In Serious Sam 3 BFE they would cluster the ammo pickups in some spots around the map, laying them on top of boxes and such.

In the old games if you ran to the far edge or far corner of an area you would usually find floating pickups. They'd often put them in a row leading to one that triggers a trap.

Something I disliked about BFE, was laying them in clusters and not putting them in the usual spots on the corners or edges of rooms. With the placement of pickups in the old games they had a well-established sort of game logic that was thrown out entirely. in BFE You'd go to places you believed they'd put pickups in BFE and there was nothing there. The pickup traps were far far fewer as well.

I also miss the well-lit temples with switches, traps and secrets all over the place. In BFE these areas were very dark so you were mostly playing flashlight tag with monsters.

I hope this game is not like BFE.

Liking the setting a lot more now, seems really cool to just have large open fields to mow down enemies in. Still praying they put some sort of budget into the animations this time but I don't expect much.

Same here but I'm on the fence about the whole deal as as far as I can tell it might just be more BFE with a better color palette.

Really the fact they don't spin was enough to disappoint me. Serious Sam was one of the last shooters to still do that and seeing it gone is kinda sad.

Holy shit I never played SS before. I only know it as "not quake" but it looks fun as fuck. I got SSSIN a bundle a long time ago but I never paid it much mind. Is it a good place to start?

Start with either The First or Second encounter. It doesn't matter much in terms of story but they'll give you a general feel on how the game works. Also try playing the originals (not the HD ones) if you can.

Another thing I disliked in BFE was

>breakable boxes with nothing inside them

The reloading and fall damage made me a bit disappointed. Serious Sam Fusion kinda fixes the reloading by putting more ammo in the guns and lets you reload while sprinting.

I hated it in BFE, and I still hate it.

It looks a lot faster than BFE reloading. But yeah I'd wish as well they would just leave it out completely.
