Do you lack a frontal lobe? The general aesthetic is similar, if you are unable to make a comparison between the two then you really need to get into artistry. Not insulting you, just really need to let you know that a lot of current year animations blend into each other, regardless of medium.

If that were the case, the bike and wall assets would have a better amount of overall detail and perspective, or it would at the least feel less "bouncy", cheap and floaty compared to how the trailers animation executed it. It really does feel like they've taken a modern take on it, rather than animate it by hand to envoke those saturday morning cartoon feelings of nostalgia. Whatever it may be, I am not too excited for it at this point in time. Patience is key.

Looks like a cartoon from WB animation, not quite CalArts, but not the epitome of animation either, how the models are positioned in the layout give me a scribblenauts vibe, objects in your images look a lot "heavier" and less "quick and dirty" in terms of aesthetic as well. What I could make out of it is reminiscent of a type of disney show, sort of, with a sprinkle of that rayman origins flair. It's all modern shpiel really. Nothing really "stands" out, could be worse I suppose, but that's exactly the premotion I have with battletoads.
They really should have just taken the safe route and had ubiworks take over the project though. Skull guy reminds me of lord hater from WOY.

Some sega boards has similar batteries. Konami had custom sound boards that were covered in black rubber and when the caps pop they tend to damage the custom chip on that tiny board so you lose your sound. CPS2 is completely recoverable now without phoenixing or altering the original boards. It seems a lot of those CPS2 boards have just disappeared at this point though.
