Seems like Nvidia got something very interesting from that deal they made with Nintendo. Now Wii games are being officially ported for their machines too, but, why only China, and since it is both a port and an emulated game, kind of weird to explain, it runs on a emulator but it is a modified version of the game for the Shield, why is this content not released for the Switch already?

Around the time the switch and wii U came out AMD was unable to compete with nvidia, and nvidia also completely monopolizes the market for portable high performance GPUs while having the only not purposefully bad drivers out of the mobile gpu makers. Their power efficiency also probably reeled nintendo in because nintendo wants small and portable consoles.

From a technological aspect nvidia was the only logical choice for nintendo, but now they'll get fucked for it.

The wii, ngc and wii u all used an opengl branch. They were incredibly easy to program for and I've even seen devs describe it as fun to work on. The only reason emulation for those 3 systems is as good as it is, is because they are so simple.

Looks like nintindo is about to go the way of the dodo because unless nintindo stops using nvidia software and switches to nouveau, their fucking botnet. That and nvidia's contracts will reduce the profitablity of their software/hardware in the longterm because selling software is nvidia's buisness. Nvidia releases a hardware spec that other companies create, and then sells software/a contract for that hardware. When in reality you don't need a deal/contract with the devil when you can just use nouveau software.

That's because Sony were fucking retarded and approached Nvidia only after a lot of devs complained about their plan to utilise only Cell for all graphics, so Nvidia had to scramble something cheap and fast in about 12 to 18 months.
